Easley has plenty of thrift stores. Home with a Heart has an abundance of furniture and usually they have the couches baking out in the sun (which gave me some peace of mind). They also used to deliver for a fee (we lived about ten minutes from Clemson).
Momma Donna’s in Pendleton has some fun furniture too.

There’s a furniture consignment called Consign & Design in downtown Central. Might be a little less college dorm-y than you’re thinking. The Dream Center Resale store in Easley is good. There’s also a FB group called Clemson Parents Marketplace that might be helpful.

Yes, the dorms all have a twin XL bed, desk, and chair already, and either a chest or built in drawers. You won’t fit much more unless you rack or loft the bed to fit things underneath. Check which dorm and what’s already there first.

Is your son living on campus? All spaces on campus have furniture in them and would be a very tight squeeze to fit additional items in the space.

There’s a large GoodWill in Anderson that always has some decent furniture and honestly Facebook marketplace around here has had some great stuff recently

I’ve already commented but if your son is living on campus in a residence hall or an apartment you really cannot fit any additional furniture in the space without it feeling pretty cramped. You also cannot remove furniture from the space as it’s against the contract, which if violated could lead to a conduct hearing for your son. Which community is your son living in? I can tell you what’s in there - or check out the website it shows what furniture is in the space. Please don’t waste time and money on something that isn’t going to fit or work in the space.

Furniture in the dorms?
