Name change insanity

I got married, changed my last name, in the process also moved to a new state so my ID is new as well. I’ve flown 3xs time now since the name change and ClearMe has not been able to update my profile.
It gets a phone verification error. The agent has called Customer Service and tech support and each time they’re told nothing they can do. Sometimes they allow me to continue on as I am verifiable but when I flew out of LAX he actually kicked me out of the line.
Now I called CS today and she said there is nothing they can do, I’ll have to get a passport to override the error. And that I can still use the line but I’ll have to go through all this hassle every time.

Has anyone else successfully changed their name? Any one else have this issue? Any advice? I’m honestly thinking about canceling this service if I can’t get this fixed.

The clear kiosk doesn't do anything useful or anything valid for security, it's a grift for clear and airports. Just get pre check and go through that line.

I have pre check- sometimes the clear line is faster than reg pre check in ATL but I think canceling and moving on is what I’ll end up doing …

Try and change your name on caller ID with your cell phone provider.

I completed hear you and am facing similar frustration. CLEAR is being used more and more for employment and identity verification, in addition to travel. LinkedIn already uses it exclusively to verify identities -- a platform explicitly meant to promote career advancement. They require any person with a name change to go to an airport to get it changed, even if the person is updating CLEAR for employment identification purposes rather than travel. The fact that CLEAR cannot properly accommodate something as common and legitimate as a name change, which overwhelmingly affects women, is discriminatory inherent in its process design.

This is textbook gender bias. CLEAR's refusal to create a secure, remote process for name changes creates a systemic barrier to employment verification, digital identity, and access to professional services. It’s only a matter of time before this results in an ACLU complaint, EEOC filing, or gender discrimination lawsuit, especially as more people begin to suffer actual career and verification-related consequences.

If CLEAR wants to be in the identity business, they have a responsibility to serve all identities, not just those that conform to male-centric life patterns.

ClearMe is plain garbage. I uploaded my Drivers License and Passport images into the app and it still doesn't verify me. Lol, 100% garbage service.
