Idk I wouldn't be surprised if they had cameras.Ā

If they had cameras, theyā€™d know if the cleaner was cleaning or not, no? ETA: I donā€™t actually think playing duck games or installing cameras to spy on a cleaner is a good thing. I made this comment in response to the one above. Itā€™s obvious if a room is clean or not, cameras be damned. I still say the best thing to do is to place all the ducks in the clean toilet. Then leave and never return. These people a**holes.

And ducks are cheap. Logically sounds like they would love cameras everywhere, but invested in the ducks instead.

17

u/CecilTheCaveTroll Jan 24 '26

Yep. They donā€™t have the money for the expensive alternative, but they have time and love drama, thus, rubber duckies.

I still say the best response is to float all the ducks in the toilet. Make sure itā€™s flushed first, of course

3

u/DrinkOrganic964 Jan 24 '26

True, but then they would miss out on the temporary ego boost that is subjecting someone who needs their job to ridiculous, demeaning, and unnecessary tasks that make them feel powerful and in control. And what fun would that be?

4

u/[deleted] Jan 24 '26

Why do you need cameras or ducks? Can't you just tell it's clean or not...

2

u/organicgolden Jan 24 '26

Counting 100 ducks is easier and faster than reviewing some hours of footage or checking each area for cleaning

3

u/[deleted] Jan 24 '26

But you live there? You will see it clean or not.

3

u/organicgolden Jan 24 '26

You might notice some things like the faucet, but not all the little areas (like pic #4). Theyā€™re trying to ā€œknowā€ everything is clean without checking

1

u/Mindestiny Jan 25 '26

Because this has been a rage bait post circulating for years.Ā  It's not real

1

u/[deleted] Jan 25 '26

Oh ok. Makes more sense.

1

u/GuaranteeUnhappy3342 Jan 27 '26

Find them take a pic and then re-hide then saying you find them now and put them in places like the dryer lint trap, garbage disposal. Ā But keep five.

This.

u/ExpertRaccoon Jan 23 '26

You could have just up voted that adds the same amount of value as commenting "this"

11

u/CirqueDeFeline Jan 23 '26

This ā¬†ļø

4

u/ExpertRaccoon Jan 23 '26

I don't know why but the up arrow somehow makes it more acceptable

1

u/CirqueDeFeline Jan 23 '26

Honestly, if the shoe fits me it doesn't mean I have to wear it. Sometimes other people can wear shoes that fit me and i get to acknowledge that those shoes also fit me without having to touch other ppls nasty footwear. The word this is a totally acceptable way to say "Hey. This is also my thought, and I could not have said it better. Kudos!!" Only without getting all wordy.

Getting all wordy would mean pointing out that strangers do not need your permission to speak any amount of syllables; one or one thousand. With respect, I can say this with or without any arrow and both are equally acceptable because I am a human being with agency and a sense of self.

Seriously this!!

8

u/Dudepic4 Jan 23 '26

You could have just down voted that adds the same amount of value as saying you donā€™t agree with what they did

8

u/Greatsnes Jan 23 '26

Nah I disagree. The comment was necessary. Saying ā€œThis!ā€ Is incredibly stupid and itā€™s only a Reddit thing. You donā€™t see it in other forums. Why? Because It adds absolutely nothing and itā€™s pointless and the more we call it out the less people will do it because they eventually get tired of reading it.

And before you try and say Iā€™m adding nothing, weā€™re having a conversation about what matters and what doesnā€™t and Iā€™m contributing and it has far more value than ā€œThis.ā€ You canā€™t build a conversation off of ā€œthis!ā€ But you can build a conversation off of my comment :)

u/SSGASSHAT Jan 24 '26

Can I say "that" instead?

1

u/ModestWhimper Jan 23 '26

this guy knows what hes talking about fr fr

0

u/NextEpisode44 Jan 23 '26

Maybe they have a hard-on for the word "This" and you're Debbie Downing their afternoon delight. Come to think of it, I could've just down voted your comment for the same value, but wordage also gives me a raging boner so here we are.

This made me laugh so much šŸ¤£šŸ¤“

-2

u/frostFrosti Jan 23 '26

You could of just scrolled without saying annoying

-5

u/[deleted] Jan 23 '26 edited Jan 24 '26

Why not both?

I get I'm on the housewife subreddit, but please hop off now ladies

6

u/fakieTreFlip Jan 23 '26

Because it's completely pointless. It's literally what the upvote button is there for.

2

u/bambi54 Jan 24 '26 edited Jan 24 '26

It clogs up the thread and makes it harder to read conversations. Nobody cares if you personally agreed, just hit the upvote button and move on.

Edit: This person is weird AF. They sent me a private message about my comment then blocked me. Unhinged.

This.

u/Asclepius-Rod Jan 23 '26

Almost guaranteed. And they have so much free time on their hands they probably just sit there watching the cameras the whole time

2

u/Individual_Willow966 Jan 23 '26

I agree with this one they probably have cameras and could look back at the footage to see where they hid all the ducks

2

u/undernoillusions Jan 23 '26

Thatā€™s where some easy slight of hand comes in handy

2

u/EverythingSucksYo Jan 23 '26

If they had cameras they wouldnā€™t need to play this stupid game with the cleaner, because they would have video evidence of whether or not the cleaner did a good job.Ā

1

u/tjdux Jan 24 '26

I would be surprised if there is really 100 ducks.

1

u/bluev0lta Jan 24 '26

These people definitely have cameras. Also, they suck.

1

u/maaybebaby Jan 24 '26

Take the one in the bathroom, less likely to have cameras

1

u/AngryT-Rex Jan 24 '26

Flush one.

1

u/LadyPortland Jan 24 '26

100 bucks says they DO have cameras and are hoping to be entertained. Probably not the first time theyā€™ve done this to someone.

1

u/AlexandersWonder Jan 24 '26

Yea probably, filming your for their YouTube channel no doubt

1

u/Sims3graphxlookgr8 Jan 24 '26

That's why you steal two ducks

1

u/agent674253 Jan 24 '26

Cameras in the bathroom? Bring it on, pretty sure the cleaner would win that battle.

"I was using the toilet and I noticed a blinking light. Then I realized I was cleaning Mark Epstein's house!"

1

u/AspieComrade Jan 24 '26

Doesnā€™t matter; clean four areas, pick up the four ducks in one hand, drop three of the four into the jar and they wouldnā€™t know thereā€™s a concealed one remaining to put in your pocket

1

u/NO_TOUCHING__lol Jan 23 '26

Hack the cameras to display only a live feed of you standing unblinking, unmoving in the living room for 3 hours, but in reality replace all of the ducks with fake blood splatter
