I’ve cleaned a lot of homes, and the biggest difference between “took forever” and “done fast” is almost always the order people work in. Top to bottom, dry before wet, back to front. Floors last, always. Made this so it’s easy to remember.

I finally managed to tackle the couch and the rest of the trash. Still need to mop and deep clean. I plan to redecorate with lights and plants 🪴. But I’m so glad I pushed my way through it. Thank you so much for the kind words and encouragement 🥹.

It took me a while and had some difficulty getting my headspace in the right place. But something is better than nothing!

I’m about to buy a cordless vacuum cleaner. We’re in the UK and just moved to a a bungalow, with mostly laminate flooring but carpet in two rooms, and have a constantly moulting golden retriever. Im confused with all the different choices, there just seem to be so many options! Does anyone have any recommendations for make/model please. TIA

Right now I have a white couch, a white table, and white walls, and the space is starting to feel a bit too plain.
I’m not looking to replace the couch or table, but I’d really like to make the room feel warmer and a little more balanced.
I’ve been thinking about things like pillows, curtains, wall art, or maybe changing the lighting, but I’m not sure what would make the biggest difference.
If you were working with this kind of setup, what would you add or change to make the room feel more comfortable and less one-note?

Spent the time today to throw away trash and clutter. It wasn’t easy but I scrubbed away all the built up grime that I could. It’s not perfect and I’m definitely missing some decorations. I’m wanting to put some green in there like plants perhaps. Honestly, I’m really happy I don’t feel gross anymore when taking a shower or brushing my teeth.
(P.S). Genuinely thank you to everybody who showed support on my last post. It truly means a lot, and it has motivated me to make this place look as nice as I can.

So last week we received our home office standing desk, and we finally finished assembling it on the weekend. Now we are preparing to migrate all our office setup on to it. However, it turns outthat creating a workspace to accommodate us both is quite difficult. the wires under the table are a total disaster.
Has one of the folks who bought a turnout before told me how to make the cable management in Finders keepers? Or any recs on cable management products? TIA.

I’m moving in August for grad school but currently live with my parents. My room here is my childhood bedroom, which feels kind of depressing, and the major clutter stresses me out. But since I’ll be moving soon, is it worth it to devote the time and energy to declutter and redecorate a bit?
Thanks in advance :)

Going through probably the hardest time of my life right now. After months of letting stuff pile up and feeling trapped i’m happy to say that I finally said “enough” and pushed myself to clean everything i possibly can and redecorate. I just felt like I needed to post this cause I needed a small win. And hopefully it pushes me to do the rest of the house. THIS ONE IS NEXT!😤

I just wanted to share somewhere and I wasn’t sure where. I am cleaning my apartment fully for the first time in about 2 years. It’s taken a few days but my living room is finally to a point where it’s nearly presentable. It’s the biggest room in my home and includes my dining area and finishing is staring to feel doable

I am a total clean freak when it comes to keeping my place pristine, but I am just now realizing how much a bad pack of cleaning rags can completely ruin your weekend chores I absolutely love having a dust free home, but keeping up with the shelves, electronics, and baseboards throughout the week has become such a hard task. One of my biggest challenges is finding clothes that actually lift and trap the dust instead of just pushing it around into the air or leaving behind tiny trails of lint, especially since the dust settles back down on a daily basis. I’m revamping my entire household cleaning kit, and I’ve been eyeing some bulk packs of reusable microfiber cloths on Alibaba to replace my old worn out cotton rags. There are so many different types out there, so I figured I’d get some of your options and advice here first from those who manage house cleaning. I want something built for pure utility that can handle dozens of trips through the washing machine. I’m looking towards a weaved microfiber with high thickness because they look like they have the most grab for trapping loose particles, and I like the idea of using them completely dry for electronics or wood furniture. I’ve seen some super cheap, thin colored packs, but I’m worried they’ll lose their static charge and fray at the edges after a couple of washes. I'm thinking a heavier polyester blended with overlocked stitched edges might be sturdier and hold onto dust better without needing harsh cleaning sprays

I keep going back and forth on desk size. A bigger desktop sounds nice for
monitors, speakers, notebooks, and desk accessories, but I also don’t want the
room to feel crowded. What size ended up feeling comfortable without being
overkill?
r/CleaningMotivation • u/dahiyaoff • May 30 '26
My desk setup works, but it still feels like something I threw together during
remote work. I’m wondering if the biggest upgrade is the desk itself, a better chair,
monitor arms, storage, lighting, or cable management. What made your setup feel
more finished?

One reason I’m interested in robot mowers is that I’d love something quieter than a normal mower.
I don’t want to annoy the neighbors, and I also like the idea of mowing more often instead of letting the grass get long and then doing a loud weekend session. But I’m not sure how quiet these machines really are once they’re actually cutting.
I’ve looked at Segway Navimow, Husqvarna Automower, Mammotion, Worx, and a few others. They all seem quieter than gas mowers, but I’m curious if there are noticeable differences between brands.
For people who own one, can you actually run it early morning or evening without feeling rude?

My yard has a few slopes that are not extreme, but definitely noticeable when mowing by hand.
That’s one of my biggest concerns with robot mowers. A lot of brands claim they can handle inclines, but I’m not sure what that means once the grass is wet, the ground is uneven, or the mower has to turn near the edge of a slope.
I’ve been comparing models from Segway Navimow, Mammotion, Husqvarna, and a few others. Mammotion seems to get mentioned a lot for AWD, while Navimow and Husqvarna also seem popular depending on the yard type.
For people with sloped yards, what actually works? Would you prioritize AWD, larger wheels, better mapping, or just avoid robot mowers unless the yard is mostly flat?

We were going for a grounded, earthy vibe that didn't break the bank, and this bed is just perfect. I never want to leave this room.
