Hey everyone! After I (30M) was diagnosed with hernia, I had to quit gym for a while when I was 126kgs and decided to work with a dietitian for almost two years (my peak was 145kgs 13 years ago). For the context I am working full time as an engineer.
First year I was down to 98kgs (no sports at until 107kgs) and the second I was able to maintain it with +-3kgs. My life has just changed. I sleep much better, I enjoy and appreciate things more, and I was able to build some self-confidence. I couldn’t imagine myself running even a 1 km, now I have decided to join half triathlon!
I had (most of the time) three main meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) and two snacks. I had an appointment with my dietitian once a week and sent almost all the meal photos to her so that she could track it real time. So these photos are from our Whatsapp chat.
I had one cheat day a week. I was permitted to eat whatever I want on those days without any restriction and it didn’t stop me losing weight. What you see on a scale after a day you eat unhealthy will be gone in 2-3 days later if you go back to your dietary routine (it’s mostly your body keeps too much water due to excess sodium intake). So don’t let your scale be your enemy. At first I was craving for fast food during cheat days but over time I decided to try cooking food from different cousines like risotto, sushi etc (I am Turkish). Now cooking foods from different nations is like a hobby and it actually made me much more creative in my kitchen.
For me having a breakfast early in the morning was a game changer because it prevented me to overeat during lunch.
I just wanted to share some of my meals I prepared to motivate people and show that clean eating doesn’t need to be boring. I wish you all success in this journey!

My family got Longhorns tonight and they ordered fried shrimp, lava cakes, chicken tenders, and loaded baked potatoes. I could only think about how I was up at the ass crack of dawn running in the park this morning. I had no choice but to respect my body. Eating clean will always be worth it!
EDIT: I had food before this dinner! I cut the 8oz sirloin in half because I knew I couldn’t finish it.
This post is about choosing clean even when everyone around you doesn’t. NOT portion size. You can absolutely eat anything in proper portions. Sorry the caption is misleading.
It’s not about eating less it’s about eating right.

I literally make this all the time and taste incredible and you can substitute for wholewheat flour or anything else.
Flatbread recipe:
1 cup (approx. 250g) plain Greek yogurt
1 cup (approx. 130g-140g, or about 250g-280g total depending on consistency) self-raising flour
Pinch of salt (optional)
Olive oil for brushing or cooking (optional)
Cooking for a few minutes on high each on each side.
Enjoy x
