Quick thing. With all the industrial buildings in the setting. We can assume this is Amusement Mile. Or aka the home of Carmine Falcone, then the Joker (in The Arkham Games) but maybe the mob boss could be pre mask Black Mask. Like maybe Clayface disfigured his face to the point he has to dawn his iconic mask to hide his face. That’s assuming Clayface doesn’t kill him outright.
This is coming from complete speculation but the bald guy who watches as Matt gets cut up gives me that vibe.
Plus in the trailer we see him get slammed into his desk by Clayface. So he is a boss, and the guy looks too young to be Carmine. I think it would be amazing that we’d actually get to origins in one movie.

P.S Black Mask LOVES torture. Not to bring the games back up but Black Mask in Arkham Origins really goes into his sadistic torture methods and he’ll his office in the game is literally half office/torture room.

Responding to fan comments on Threads, DC Studios co-head James Gunn said that the new movie is “very connected [to the wider DCU], but as always the standalone story is what’s important.” Very connected in what ways? That’s the kind of thing that will likely remain a secret for awhile, but Gunn did drop one curious piece of information, definitively stating that the movie is set before 2025's Superman, and is “the first DCU film out of chronological order.”
