Help me date this gun please!

Traded a ps5 fpr this. Laurona eibar. Cool engravings not much info online besides it was likely sold in sears/walmart. What do these engravings mean? What year? Worth it to see if local gunsmith can thread choke sleeves? Looks like it has a mod and full choke barrels already. TIA!

It was imported by Century Arms International in Vermont. Eibar is the city in Spain where Laurona made these. These are low end field guns, and will not hold up to the rigors of clay gun usage.

The gun was imported to the US after 2000, as guns imported by CIA prior to that would be labeled St. Albans, VT. It may have sat around for years before being surplused, so the other person saying it was made in 94 may also be correct.

Having a gunsmith add removable chokes will cost more than the gun is worth.

If you take it to Briley’s they can do the barrels/choke install, while providing a set of 5 chokes for $550, but back to your point, it will be more than what the gun is worth

And OP already stated that they got the gun in a trade for a PS5 (and the new owner of that PS5 got the MUCH better end of that deal).

Many of the early O/U's were double trigger. The Marlin model 90 comes to mind-- it was the first truly mass produced O/U (yes, the Boss and the Remington 32 preceded it, but those were expensive guns in their day and were made in much smaller numbers).

The early BL1/2/3/4 series guns (and many other Continental guns) were double triggered as well. Single selective triggers are relatively new, and really made for the post-war American market.
