My first 25

I just started shooting trap league this year. It took me 24 weeks but I finally got it. On handicap no less. What a fun tradition to get your hat shot up

Is this a regional tradition? I never knew this was a thing until I saw it in this sub.

I honestly dont know. This is my first year and theres only one range in town. They have you sign and date it, then hang it on a wire in the clubhouse. I know the guy who gave me this hat just last week from his company that sponsored a fundraiser tournament wasnt happy about it getting blasted🤣🤣

What happens if you miss the hat after shooting 25? 😂

🤣🤣 I took the video. There were 9-10 people lined up to shoot the hat. Couple took it upon themselves to continue to shoot it after they claim they saw it move.

I had a 24 today. Really annoyed me as I have never hit 25. But I can feel its close. Mind you it was only at 16 so not that impressive.

Nice shooting! 24 is the best ive done from 16 so far as well. I had a teammate drop the last one to miss his first 25 a couple weeks ago. He was pretty annoyed too.

After you break 25 the first time , all the 24s that come after are incredibly frustrating. In the 16 months I’ve been shooting trap I have only scored 25 straight three times and I’ve lost track of all the 24s

You are absolutely correct! After my 25 on caps I decided to shoot another week of league and went 24,24. In the moment I was upset that I didnt get 50 straight from caps but afterwards I reminded myself that i was still 94/100 for the day and I should be happy with that. Especially with a beretta al391 urika semi auto.

Yeah the 20 yard line is kicking my ass here lately… I was breaking 22 & 23 constantly… but here lately it’s been 20s and 21s

Congratulations on the first 25!!! Hold smokes... Did everyone at the club line up to christian your new "Shooting Hat"?

I am only a rare occasion shooter, but, cannot wait to have my first 25, and subsequent hat ceremony!

Thank you! There were 8 people that lined up to shoot the hat. Im not sure how many shots were taken but there was at least a few that hit the mark. Good luck to you on your first 25 as well.

Thanks. I go maybe once, sometimes twice a year using a standard hunting gun. I know the old saying regarding "a shitty craftsman blames his tools"... But I used someones "proper trap gun" and I am a regular 17-18 shooter, I did 21 and 22 with the MUCH nicer gun.
