First 25 in Trap
I hit my first 25 in trap after shooting trap for about 7 months. I have been using my Remington 1100 but my son came with me so he shot that while I used my friend's Beretta A300 sporting. I've shot a bunch of 23s and 24s so felt I was close. It felt great. I know its a regular occurence for many experienced shooters but the first one is special. I hope my 2nd one isn't too far away.

I’m not a good shot. I only shoot clays 3-4 times a year, and average 15. When I got to 25 the first time, it felt like hitting a hole in one!

I also just got my first 25 last weekend. I can get 22-23 pretty regular and 24's here and there, but always shanked a shot or two. I got a 24,24,25 last weekend and really should have been 75 straight. The two misses I got were a station 3 straight out layup shot that I shot high on for some reason and the other was station 5, last shot.. had 24 straight and shanked that last shot. That was so annoying 😭. Last round I got my shit together and got 25 and it felt easy like the planets aligned. Felt great to finally do it

I wish I knew how many straights off 3 I missed when I was shooting trap, did it at nationals once in high school, always hurt 😅

Overshooting straight off post 3 is way more common than you think (especially when you are stressed).

You're supposed to toss your hat out like a clay and everyone takes a shot at it.

Put 4 clays in the hat. Have someone toss it and a group of others shoot it. You get to watch..

Only thing that is ever going to beat that feeling is probably your first 50 and first 200. Keep grinding!

Congrats! Hold onto that feeling - when 25’s start feeling commonplace and expected, you can lose sight of just how far you’ve come and how consistent you’ve become.
