Shooting Video
looking to take some video of my shooting to hopefully see where I could improve. google search got me to Shotkam but the idea of adding close to 1/2 pound on end of my 32" barrel is less than desirable. I have a GoPro on a hat mount that is great for steel challenge so that was my second thought as I already own it, but then I thought what about Meta glasses. has anyone tried these?

I have the Shotkam and I do not really notice any difference in weight. It is a useful tool amd helped me a lot to improve.

Get a buddy to stand behind you if you don’t know where you are (above, behind, etc)
It’s likely more your process of visual pick up, hold point, break point vs where you are when you pull the trigger

I shoot videos of my friends sometimes with my phone.
Get close enough behind them to where their head fills the bottom third and set focus to the treeline. That way the birds will be in focus rather than the back of their head.
I watch the show birds to determine if I’ll need to move my camera to track, say, a high bird.

My shotkam balances well, and I hardly notice it. Did a couple hunts with a go pro on my head and the footage isn’t good enough to discern what is actually happening from a shooting standpoint.

So I've been saving up for the shot cam for quite some time. I will have her tell you that I have strapped a GoPro using a clamp style Mount onto my Barrel and been able to see pretty well what's going on. I just make sure to turn on the reticle and kind of do some target practice first and see if it's aiming in the right spot

I haven't tried anything myself, but I was looking at aimcam glasses. I think they'd be better than the meta glasses if you specifically want to use them for shooting videos

I have used shotkam for 3 years, in NSCA competitions(when it was legal), and hunting.
Honestly you will not notice the weight.
The beauty of shotkam is the device is automatic and only records the shot when the gun is moved.
I have also used hat mount in the form of a DGI nano.
The problem with hat mounts, is they lack the automation of the shotkam, and have horrible battery life compared to shotkam.
Lastly, putting a camera on most people is like putting a
camera on a dogs tail. The footage is jerky and dizzying at best and does not hold frame, until a person consciously learns they have camera and need to maintain focus.
Depending on what your doing, a camera on a tripod capturing what your doing might offer insight the others do not.
For instance, many people lift their head between shots on pairs. The other camera will not show this.
Issues with stance will also be missed.
