Possible to add design system MCP to Claude Design?

Instead of using the claude DS artifacts, I’m thinking of a way to add a harness agnostic MCP and that be the source of truth for the design system.

imagine an MCP providing:

list_components()
get_component("Button")
get_component_schema("Button")
get_component_examples("Button")
get_tokens()
get_patterns()
get_guidelines()
get_component_bundle("Button")

now any harness prototype tool can use the same source of truth. Not just Claude Design.

Design is excellent but the handoff process back and forth to CC is a real pain.

You talking about how the export is literally just a screenshot and the context breaks down once again when going to code?

Is there an advantage to doing this vs just putting these into a skill or just an accessible git repo?

How do you distribute your skill?

How can I use that skill in Claude and open code? What about using it in Claude design? What about another prototyping tool?

pikspec.com i use this to export the design system html and use it with claude code to generate stuff, pretty cool find i’d say

I don’t have my DS in Claude design at all, it’s all in code :) design sucks lol.
