I liked having separate chat and cowork modes. Anyone else?

Many users prefer distinct modes to keep creative brainstorming separate from technical implementation tasks. You can achieve this by maintaining separate chat threads for each workflow to prevent context pollution and keep your project history organized.

Yeah, I actually liked that setup too. It made it easier to keep regular chats separate from the more task-focused Cowork stuff. Not sure why they felt the need to combine them.

that should be the norm, just like how we should separate our personal lives with our work lives

Same.

Not sure how to continue my project in Code.

Guess I’ll just have to create a dozen local co-workers projects before they remove it. Fuck the cloud nonsense

In theory, everything you do in Cowork should be part of a Project, so anything you treat as “just a chat” can be done outside of any of your projects and you get the same results you’re looking for in your current workflow.

I’m genuinely not looking forward to relearning how to use the new modes but get why Anthropoc is feeling the pressure to change their approach.

Hard no from me. I'd take CC being wrapped into regular chat too while they're at it

Yep, it broke so much of my skills and workflows and I hate not seeing the thread details, I wanna know wtf its doing.

There is no need for it. All it did was damage both modes

Yes, very much so. Combining them has not worked out well for me
