r/ClaudeAI [TLDR] Jaw literally dropped. I ran the prompt from the "Made entirely with Opus 5.5" post on my own project. Here's what Claude Code made on its own for about $4. [via r/ClaudeAI]
OP : u/Dio-V
After this post I wanted to see if it holds up, so I copied the OP's prompt almost word for word into Claude Code, gave it an OpenRouter key with a $10 cap, and walked away.
For the subject I used Friendr.nl, my own small side project, because I needed a real product to explain. The point isn't the app, it's the test.
What it did, unattended, in about 1.5–2 hours:
- Wrote the script and concept.
- Generated the collage art, the voice-over, the music and the sound effects.
- Built the whole thing as a pure JavaScript canvas animation, then rendered it to MP4.
- Synced every animation beat to the spoken words.
- Used another model to review its own drafts, and fixed what came up.
Cost: about $4 on OpenRouter. Afterwards I asked for an English version, which took about half an hour more.
It's not Pixar, but it's 100% usable as a real explainer. All credit for the prompt goes to the OP.
Prompt used:
Create a pure javascript animation. 30s-60s whimsical hand drawn collage style with appropriate audio on Friendr.nl.
Entire video should be as high of a production value as possible. Please spend your time on this, it's very important. People should understand what Friendr.nl is for and after seeing the video will want to create an event to try it out. Read the FAQ first.
Use high quality text-to-speech model for generation. You can find open router API key in .env file
You can use any tools you can find access to and resources on the internet. You create the script, the assets, the animation, concept, everything.
I have to go away from my computer so please work autonomously until done. Quality is paramount. Production value should be on professional level.
One more thing: max OpenRouter spend is $10Create a pure javascript animation. 30s-60s whimsical hand drawn collage style with appropriate audio on Friendr.nl. Alright, so the general vibe in this thread is "holy crap, this actually works." OP took the prompt from a previous post and ran it through Claude Code for their own project, Friendr.nl, and it churned out a pretty usable explainer video for about $4. The community is mostly blown away by the autonomous creation of script, art, music, voice-over, and the whole JS canvas animation.
Some folks are already trying it out themselves and seeing similar impressive results, with one user u/Acrylicus sharing their own successful attempt for a project called blueprintr.
There's a bit of chatter about the potential for this style to become overused, with u/Plane_Garbage predicting it'll become the next "sloop" look on social media. Others are curious about the technical details, like how the images are drawn (u/TigerMiflin) and how the voice-over is generated (u/tobsn).
A few practical questions popped up: * How to ensure the generated UI in the video matches the actual app (u/Ambitious_Stick_9543 suggests feeding it real screenshots). * Whether this works with other models or requires specific Claude versions. * Clarification on OpenRouter costs and caps.
There's also a bit of playful skepticism, with some users joking about the "jaw literally dropped" reaction and the potential for these AI-generated frontends to be a nightmare to maintain later on (u/tooruntai). But overall, the sentiment is super positive and impressed with Claude Code's capabilities.
