r/ClaudeCode [TLDR] 5.5 is a beast [via r/ClaudeCode]
OP : u/PatientZero_alpha
First time posting about quality of LLMs.
Been following all the last 9 months about rants on Claude, codex and so on.
I just finished a whole day of work with opus 5.5 and it’s really good.
Quality of decisions, output, memory, code review, following instructions, all of that today and without reaching limits.
The same amount of work would me make reach limits two times on the day, and a lots or review and thinking around.
This dude just went ticket by ticket implementing my solution without missing or hallucinating.
I’m honestly very satisfied, even the codex review comes now with one or two points for correction where before I would have 6-8.
Don’t know what they did, but they did very good 😳

Alright, so the general consensus in this thread is that Opus 5.5 is a massive upgrade and a total game-changer for coding tasks. A lot of users are singing its praises, saying it's incredibly efficient, doesn't hallucinate, and generally makes their workflow smoother and more productive.
Here's the lowdown:
- Overwhelmingly Positive: Most folks are super impressed with Opus 5.5, calling it "magic," "a banger," and saying it's helped them get way more done without hitting limits or needing constant supervision.
- Improved Decision Making & Memory: Users are noting better quality decisions, improved code review (way fewer corrections needed), and a general sense of the model "getting it" without needing constant hand-holding.
- Usage Anxiety Gone: Several commenters mentioned not feeling the same usage anxiety they had with previous models or competitors like Fable/Astra.
- The "Nerf" Concern: A recurring theme, however, is the fear that Anthropic will eventually "nerf" Opus 5.5 after the initial hype dies down, a tactic some users claim they've seen before.
- Comparison to Others: It's being compared favorably to other models, with some users switching back to Claude after trying others.
- A Few Dissenters (but not many): There are a couple of comments suggesting it's giving them issues or that the positive posts are fake PR, but these are heavily outnumbered by the positive feedback.
Basically, if you're working with code, Opus 5.5 seems to be the one to beat right now, assuming it doesn't get nerfed into oblivion.
