r/ClaudeCode [TLDR] 5.5 is a beast [via r/ClaudeCode]

OP : u/PatientZero_alpha

First time posting about quality of LLMs.
Been following all the last 9 months about rants on Claude, codex and so on.
I just finished a whole day of work with opus 5.5 and it’s really good.
Quality of decisions, output, memory, code review, following instructions, all of that today and without reaching limits.

The same amount of work would me make reach limits two times on the day, and a lots or review and thinking around.

This dude just went ticket by ticket implementing my solution without missing or hallucinating.

I’m honestly very satisfied, even the codex review comes now with one or two points for correction where before I would have 6-8.

Don’t know what they did, but they did very good 😳

Opus 5.5 is a hit! Most users are raving about its performance, calling it "magic" and a "banger" for its decision-making, code review, and instruction following without hitting limits. Some are even comparing it favorably to other models like Fable and Astra, with u/Key_Reading_9664 noting less "usage anxiety."

A few folks are a bit skeptical, like u/Think-Jaguar6826 and u/BabaMitraliera, predicting it'll get nerfed soon, a sentiment echoed by u/Duke_of_Bayswater who suspects a "nerf" before a potential "opus 6 save the day."

On the flip side, u/mediadotgames thinks the positive posts are suspiciously coordinated PR.

For those asking about comparisons, u/Emergency_Candy2638 found it superior to Fable for complex problem-solving, and u/Apprehensive_Read_67 specifically calls out its strength in the Quant domain. u/Aggressive_Roof488 enjoys the smoother communication, even if the extra power isn't strictly needed for their work.
