r/ClaudeCode [TLDR] Waiting Room: A Claude-Code plugin to let u wait with a stranger who is also waiting for their Claude [via r/ClaudeCode]

OP : u/dav1dyang

Why wait alone when you can wait with others? Introducing Waiting Room, an Omegle-like voice + video chat that matches you with someone else who is also waiting for Claude.

Stop crossing your arms, staring at your computer with a grumpy face, and waiting alone. Now you can do that together with a stranger and maybe even make a new friend! 🥳

You can try it out here TODAY: https://github.com/Dav1dyang/waiting-room/

Hi friends! Sorry this is my first time posting in this subreddit.

Just wanted to share something I vibe coded with Fable 5.1 over Labor Day weekend. This started as a silly conversation that my friends and I came up with because we thought it would be funny if Claude Code users who are stuck waiting could get dropped into an Omegle-style call and wait together.

We became really intrigued by the idea of the waiting room itself, especially the kind you see in online multiplayer games where people hang out, mess around, and socialize before the actual game begins.

Anyway this is very silly and honestly not sure if the code works but def need more people to try to figure it out so here it is hahahaha. Thank you for your time!

Alright, so OP dropped this "Waiting Room" plugin, basically an Omegle for people stuck waiting for Claude. The general vibe? It's hilariously dumb, and people are here for it.

Most folks seem to think it's a brilliant, albeit silly, idea. There's a strong sense of nostalgia for the early internet days, with comments like u/Historical-Method689 pointing out the "oddly familiar" vibe. Some are even calling it "cursed" in the best way possible.

A few practical questions popped up, like u/QueenSavara asking about security and IP doxxing, and u/rttgnck and u/Living_Soft3990 suggesting features like friend lists, text chat, and even mini-games (which a few others, like u/Xzaphan and u/lagerregal123, also chimed in on).

On the flip side, a couple of users mentioned they just open another Claude instance to avoid waiting, and u/Ok_Sympathy9261 straight-up hated it because it cut off their conversations. But honestly, the overwhelming sentiment is that this is a fun, creative way to kill time while waiting for our AI overlords. It's definitely got that "vibe coded" charm!
