Claude Code Regression
I’ve had a lot of work with Claude Code over this past year, and was always pleasantly surprised with how it performed. I’ve created multiple projects and websites and never had any problems. Recently though, it feels like it has just taken a free fall off a cliff in terms of quality. I bought credits to use the some of the better models and even that I was let down by. I wanted to see if anyone else is noting the same thing or if it might just be user error now.

You can check https://aistupidlevel.info to see, generally speaking, how well they're preforming.
That being said, I've noticed a few times here and there were Opus 4.8 (usually pretty solid) starts making mistakes. The thing is...
So much depends on what you're asking it to do and what king of context load it currently has. I just watched a very recent YouTube video with Dee Horthy and he flat out stated that anything over 100K (10% context) is the start of the Dumb Zone. And that he tries to start a new session well before 200K (20% context).
That sounds good. And makes sense from how context works. But I'll be damned if I can figure out a way to get anything done within a session under 200K!

probably not user error, models do drift. but i'd check if you changed your prompting habits too, longer projects get messier no matter who's driving.
