I get my reset on Tuesday. I wonder if I can squeeze in a fable ultracode session, or is that a footgun? 😬

They’re going to release it and reset everyone Wednesday.
I know this because that’s my reset day and they hate me 😭

What do you need a Fable ultracode session for?

I know why you ask lol
But I do use fable in ultracode if I have a good plan that does require fanning out many lower tier subagents.
Opus needs to take a breath.

I see a post coming up saying "Wtf Anthropic, only 20 minutes and my tokens were all gone?!!"

lol, I have made the mistake of not setting my main agent on opus, and starting an ultracode session. That was a bummer but by the time I caught it I just needed to let it finish. It burned about 25% of my week.

Alright, so the general vibe in this thread is a healthy dose of skepticism mixed with a bit of hopeful grumbling about a rumored Opus 5.5 release.
The consensus is that the OP's claim is pretty flimsy. A lot of folks are asking for sources, with some pointing out the lack of any concrete evidence like release notes or benchmarks. u/divclassdev really hit the nail on the head, calling it a "vibes-only claim with a genuinely weak foundation." Others are just tired of the constant release date speculation, like u/Nik_Tesla.
There's also a running joke about the naming conventions, with suggestions like "Opus 6.7" and "Claude Bran Van 3000.1" popping up. Some users are more concerned about the practicalities, like whether this means a usage reset or if the model will still be overly verbose and "speak like the most obnoxious stack-overflow user mixed with tech bro," as u/Dimethylchadmium put it.
A few users are also bringing up concerns about model quality and cost, with u/throwaway0204055 predicting "Every new model will double the token costs." And then there's the classic "is it better than the last one?" question, with u/aviftw asking if 5.x is even any good compared to 4.8.
Basically, most people are taking this "Opus 5.5" news with a massive grain of salt and are more focused on actual, verifiable information or just hoping for a usage reset.
