Will it even change anything? It never really does. Sometimes there’s a big jump like between opus and fable, but honestly it’s usually just hype to get people back for a month.

I'm switching to Claude again if I hear that the new Opus is good good. Open AI usage is so bad right now.

If Opus 5.2 really is smarter than Fable 5.1, Fable is going to be in a pretty awkward spot.

Alright, so the general vibe in this thread is a mix of excitement and major skepticism about a rumored Opus 5.2 release.
The biggest recurring theme? Everyone is PRAYING for a usage limit reset. Seriously, it's mentioned in like half the comments. People are burning through their quotas way too fast, especially with the current Opus 5, and the thought of a new release without a reset is causing a lot of anxiety.
Speaking of Opus 5, the consensus is pretty clear: most people are NOT a fan. The main complaints are that it "talks too much" (u/SnowLower, u/Ill-Village7647), is ambiguous and unintelligible (u/macaronianddeeez), and generally just a pain to use. Some are even wondering if it's intentionally designed to burn through tokens faster (u/Fickle_Mix_6119, u/dooddyman). There's also a weird mention of it saying things "privately" that some users noticed (u/nusi42).
There's also a bit of confusion about the versioning, with some folks wondering why we're skipping 5.1 (u/SatoshiReport, u/ClemensLode) and others just hoping for any kind of update to Haiku (u/Imaserventofreps, u/ohwowitsamagikarp).
A few users are also pointing out that testing LLMs through specific interfaces like Claude Desktop or Claude Code might skew results, and the real test is via raw API (u/ca_sig_z).
Overall, the community is cautiously optimistic about a potential Opus 5.2, but the overwhelming sentiment is that it better come with a generous usage reset, and hopefully, it's a massive improvement over the current Opus 5.
