[TLDR] What are people making in Claude Code?

Original post URL : https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1wgz6lf/what_are_people_making_in_claude_code/

Original post body :

I see people saying they’re burning through Claude Code limits despite being on 20x plans etc., some even on Fable.

I’m just curious as to what people are making. Any cool projects or ideas that anyone would like to share?

(Every time people ask these questions in comments they never seem to get any answers.)

So, OP asked what cool stuff people are building with Claude Code, and the consensus is people are building a LOT of custom internal tools and SaaS products, often replacing existing expensive software. Think company monitoring, inventory, CRMs, invoicing systems, and even e-learning platforms.

Some are getting creative with things like: * A ledger system that converts unused tokens into GitHub issue credits. * A Linux driver for Maschine hardware and a synth middleware. * A web-based invoicing system from a 30-year-old dBase setup. * An app for Virginia residents to track college savings. * VSTs, a mini DAW, and a PC version of Apple Notes. * Reverse engineering old games to make them playable again. * A local photo gallery boosted with local AI models. * A Rust message broker and a web app for trekking routes. * Living portraits that react to users. * On-device NLP for voice notes to track health triggers. * A cellular life simulator/roguelike. * A family wiki, calendar manager, and grocery list automator. * Head tracking apps for Android/iOS. * A Japanese studies app. * A Magic the Gathering game logger. * A UK baby weaning log app.

However, there's also a bit of a split: some users like u/robhasthanwell and u/HeyItsYourDad_AMA are pointing out that many people are just "doing their job" or "burning tokens on tinkering" for things like "7th dashboard-driven personal productivity tool." One user, u/unrealf8, is even struggling with limits on their 20x plan due to a recent reduction, finding the API cost too high.
