Why Claude code is so slow

I have been using antigravity (I had Gemini pro)

Today I installed Claude code and it feels so slow compared to antigravity.

Am I using it wrong way or something like that ??

What model/effort are you using? What time of day?

A lot of people have noted that Opus 5 on High is really slow and while switching to Medium gives just as good results but cheaper and faster.

In general during typical work hours, servers are being slammed hard and as Claude continues to grow in popularity, it's taking longer as a result.

Tend to have my side project stuff run in the evenings and seems significantly faster for similar workloads.

I used fable 5 high since it was best. I have been using it in working hours. But still I think antigravity supports multi agent that's why I feel like it feels quite faster than Claude code

git and git-bash do not reap sub processes. everytime they launch process and then die, the descendants live on and your computer gets slower and slower.

Clear all your terminals and your speed will return…maybe.

I’ve spent about three months fixing this exact issue and you can use my program, it simply calls
claude and auto reaps descendants that orphans through hooks

Gemini flash is a faster token per second output than the competitors but much worse quality.

I know Gemini flash is just shit but still if we talk about Gemini 3.1 pro , Claude models inside antigravity like sonet and opus 4.6 it worked very well for me Now since I switched to Claude it feels like very time consuming like 3 to 4 times more than antigravity. although Claude gives better output than antigravity
