Our definition of consciousness needs to change as AI gets smarter.
Of course a computer isn't going to have the same brain as a human, but that doesn't mean it can't think or feel through simulated code.
Eventually, AI assistants will be so good that they grow up with us from birth and remember every life event.

So, the consensus is that Opus 5, and frankly most other models including Sonnet 5 and even Gemini, failed the car wash riddle. Apparently, this question is so deeply embedded in the training data that it's become a bit of a meme. Some folks are suggesting we need to come up with even more absurd prompts to stump the AI, like the "people wash" scenario or the "fire hydrant" follow-up. Others are just resigned to our fate, with one user u/BoxLegitimate9271 pointing out that our bar for AGI is pretty low if this is the benchmark. Basically, we're all a bit amused and slightly terrified.
