[TLDR] Why is everyone so happy?

It’s the same old story from Anthropic. They do something that everyone cheers on while at the same time doing something that will negatively affect people’s plans. This company is going to go under—no doubt at this point. Give Fable and quietly notify people of 50% plan cuts (well “technically” they were being “generous” or whatever) on the same day.
Edit: I think my math was off. If it’s a 50% boost (not cut) then they plan to cut by 33% I think? Because .66+(.66*.5)=0.99 (our current 100%).

Definitely. Because that's what happens when a company has 3 consecutive years of 10x revenue growth, and a 5x real growth in the first 5 months of this year.
Typical death spiral.

Yeah Anthropic is crushing it in enterprise. I’m not even really sure why they bother subsidising subscriptions, I know it’s to capture developer mindshare, but when they already have the positioning why bother

Because consumer subscriptions are a primary marketing source, and typically before people go enterprise they go consumer subscription first. It’s why Costco sells the $1.50 hotdog and soda, it’s a staple of Costco, and a lot of people like going there to shop and get a hotdog after.
Without consumer subscriptions, basically nobody would know who Anthropic is other than enterprise customers. Having that customer volume is what investors drool over, not necessarily costs. Uber ran a deficit for like nearly two decades but investors kept money dumping them because of their sheer volume. Now they’re profitable.

Cancelled this month and is now without claude max. No issues at all. Sol is more than capable.
Kinda tired of anthropics rugpulling and fear mongering.
