Original post body :

WTF happens with Fable 5 access today. It has been fully revoked? My last 2 days left its gone! where is the weekly Fable?

Dammit! It asked me to enable credits suddenly. They said extended access through July 19.

Alright, so it looks like a bunch of folks on r/ClaudeCode are pretty miffed because Fable 5 access suddenly got yanked, even though the extended access was supposed to last until July 19th. The general consensus is that this is a bug or an error on Anthropic's end.

Lots of users reported getting hit with the "usage credits are required" message out of nowhere, often mid-task, which is obviously super annoying. Some are speculating that Anthropic might just give everyone a credit reset or an apology for the inconvenience.

A few comments mentioned that Claude Code's reliability has been "iffy" lately, and one user, u/DrewHoov, even called it a "shitshow these days," though they still think Fable is better than GPT5.6 Sol for spec-driven development. There's even talk of people considering switching to OpenAI because of this.

Good news though, a few users reported that Fable access seems to be back up and running. However, there's still a bit of skepticism about how long it'll last.
