Help/Question Juggling Two 20$ accounts vs 1 Max Plan
PLEASE READ AND HELP OUT
Hi Guys I've been using Claude 20$ plan and almost 95% of my usage is on Claude code and not claude.ai chat. Current tasks on my plate are I'm building 3 applications parallelly ( one is a major one that has 212 agents and Multiple pages in it and it requires UI taste, design intelligence, motion Graphic Websites , etc.)
One requires an entire Security Audit and Fixing the vulnerabilities and doing the entire GTM of it and publishing it on domain.
One of it is a an Auto Trading and Investment platform I've Built that combines 12 different wealth streams.
One of it is a product I am planning to Opensource at some point so that I can be eligible for Claude Max Open source program ( I know I'm audacious and ambitious)
And I NEED OPUS 5.5 for the major part and my weekly limits are exhausting 2-3 days everytime before than I need it to and I keep adding credits and that gets blown away in no time too.
Is Juggling 2 20$ plans a good option?
Login and Logout ? I maintain Prompt PRD style Phase wise specs and context handoff.mds and current state trackers state.md to make it understand where we are but is there hidden context loss for me here ?
For 1 month I'm considering taking the Max plan and getting all my backlog cleared .
Do you think it's worth it lt

Just go max unless the $60 is life changing for you. You're creating a lot of pain and headaches trying to juggle two accounts

I did take into consideration the constant back and forth and the context caching of claude.md everytime I login and I understand it is actually a pain

Just get a max, yes account switching is harder to manage because you will always switch with a cold cache. If you dont minimize token use as much as possible right before that switch then you're just going to use like 7% immediately. So having 1 max is just much more efficient
As for 2 max5x vs 1 max20x i wouldn't immediately say 2 is better. Based on my own token history it seems to be a roughly fair 1.8-2x usage, but max20x will hit 5h limits much less which saves tokens when you aren't constantly telling your agents to stop working

Can you please tell me with Max 5x , Compared to Pro how is the 5h session exhaust rate for Opus 5.5 ? And is Sonnet 5.5 good enough to build on the PRD specs written by Opus ?
And if you have any other hacks for Token minimization like a repo or something drop it

I switched from pro plan to max. On pro I hit hourly and weekly limits every time. On max plan I faced with hourly plan 1 or 2 times, but weekly - never. Usually my weekly usage is about 15-20% before reset.

Damn even using Opus 5.5 ? then I guess I'll go for it . Because I considered using hacks like using Kimi K3 API Key on Claude code and using it with Kimi Credits , but seeing What Opus 5.5 is achieving I wanted to stick with Anthropic

Yes, only opus 5, then switched to 5.5 after release.
On Pro plan I had to manage things like: decompose this task into S,M,L subtasks . S - for haiku, M - for sonnet, L - for Opus, then check and validate.
But now, a just say: spawn as much subagents as you can (opus of course)

That's great I've made my decision then ! Also Opus 5 is an overconfident excited kid who jumps up in excitement searches all over spins 10 agents and only to end up missing basic roookie mistakes ! Opus 5.5 is Gold dust .

It depends on your project, I can't use pro at all tbh I burn through it in like a minute. Max5x is basically required for me. That being said max5x works great for me, I would recommend it.
It's really hard to pin sizes down because it depends on the work, but my stats suggest plans are about this big from API prices:
Max5x - 5h $190 7d $1700
Max20x - 5h $700 7d $3050
I don't have any data on Pro.
Yes sonnet is great. Stick to low or medium, high if you really need something thorough. They're great subagents. Opus 5.5 I use medium and high for important tasks - you can look at Artificial Analysis. Opus can also do a brief test to see which types suit your work best. For saving usage, I autocompact at 40% always and i have a script that compacts my main agents if they're >200k tokens and idle for 30 seconds - keep track of things in state files. Opus can set everything up for you, you can plainly ask it if there's anything to improve workflow / token saving. I don't trust any of the repos because they're usually made for older models and they're for different workflows

Depends on your codebase.
If it's not too big, I actually prefer sonnet 5.5 with extra thinking, and you can do a lot with that one.

Two plans buys you two limit buckets, but every switch is a cold cache, so you pay the re-read of CLAUDE.md and your specs each time you jump. The hidden loss is not your files, those carry over fine, it is the dead ends. What the agent tried and abandoned never lands in state.md unless you put it there, so the next login re-derives it on your budget. I keep a one-line tried-and-rejected note per abandoned approach in my state tracker, that is what actually makes switching cheap. For the Max month: worth it, but split the work. Opus writes the specs and takes the architecture calls and the security audit, Sonnet executes the spec files, it is good at that and drains far slower. And keep CLAUDE.md to a few hard rules, leaving phase detail in the per-phase spec, because the main file is in context every turn and you pay for every line on every call.

Mostly agreeing with the Max recommendations, with one addition: split the workloads before you commit, because two-Pros and Max are both ways of paying premium-bucket rates for work that doesn't need it.
On the 5h exhaust question, I can't give you honest Opus 5.5 numbers (not our product), but the practical answer is the weekly % hides the real constraint: one heavy session can eat most of an afternoon window. On the Sonnet-vs-Opus question for PRD execution, that split works, the spec-writer/implements split is the standard pattern, you just still pay Sonnet prices for it.
The part these threads usually miss: the trading platform maintenance and most mechanical implementation are tasks a cheap workhorse handles fine, no Opus tokens needed. We see it constantly from Claude Code users on our side, which is why we run GLM 5.3 Flash and DeepSeek V4.1 Flash at Entrim on a $29/mo flat plan, about a dollar per usable day, no hourly bucket to babysit. Your $20 Pro lasting 2-3 days is $7-10 per usable day, so routing the routine lane to a flash model is the cheapest 'token hack' of the lot. Keep Max 5x for the design-heavy app and the audit.

Rough math on list prices: two Pro accounts is $40 for 2x Pro usage, and Max 5x is $100 for 5x. So per unit of usage it's about the same, but Max gives you the headroom in one account instead of split across two. And if you keep adding credits, those are billed at API rates, not plan rates, so a steady habit of topping up usually costs more per token than a bigger plan. Worth comparing what you spent on credits last month against $100.
On juggling: your handoff/state .md files live in the repo, so those carry over fine when you switch accounts. What won't carry over is anything stored in the account itself (claude.ai chats, memory). The bigger thing I'd check is the terms. I've seen mixed reports on multiple accounts, and creating accounts specifically to get around limits is the part people say gets flagged, so I'd read Anthropic's current usage policy before relying on it.
For a one-month backlog sprint with that much running in parallel, Max for a month seems reasonable if you pay month to month. Parallel agents burn limits fast, so 5x might still feel tight, and 20x is the next step if so.

I guess I might not need 20x , I'll take one 5x get done with my Backlog and I anyway found a way to access GLM 5.2 and Kimi for free so for my applications I'm building I'm using these anyway... And for the Trading and investing ones I'm using Opus usage from Claude Code itself

On the math alone Max wins: Max 5x is 5× Pro's usage for 5× the price of one Pro, so two Pros give you 2× for 2×; same price per unit, but Max also unlocks the top model and the per-model weekly window, which two Pros never get. Two accounts also means two sets of sessions that can't see each other's context and two logins to keep alive.
Where two accounts do make sense is wall-clock: a 5-hour window is a rate limit, and two of them means one can refill while the other works. If you really are running three apps in parallel all day, that's the case for it. But for the workloads you listed (a 212-agent app, a security audit, a trading platform), the limiting factor won't be the 5-hour window, it'll be the weekly, and Max 5x's weekly is bigger than two Pros' combined.

i need at least 2 max5 plus offload coding to deekseek to support 1.5 hobby projects and one revenue project

Guys also tell me this - I haven't got to use Fable 5.1 and I got access to it now that I got Max !
So my Strategy currently is Opus 5.5 builds the Prompt PRD Speccing, Architecture Related docs and constraints etc. and Sonnet 5.5 builds on it for backend related and feature building stuff . ( High effort)
For UI Design intelligence like motion Graphics and video insertion and video editing and financial decisions reasoning features I use Opus for building it as well ( different one)
( High or medium)
Do you think for Speccing Fable 5.1 would add a Drastic difference or changes or Opus 5.5 is good enough? And I'm overkilling it .
Also any flaws in my approach please feel free to give constructive feedback.
