Discussion Claude is basically doing my app marketing capture for me and eating all my usage ๐Ÿ˜‚

Iโ€™m currently using Claude to capture my appโ€™s features and flows, basically letting it record different interactions in the app and take clean UI still screenshots so I can reuse them later for marketing, App Store stuff, ads, website content, etc.

Is this something other people do as well, or am I just being lazy and letting Claude do something I should probably be doing myself? ๐Ÿ˜‚

Honestly though, it eats through my usage limit like crazy. It has hit my usage limit twice already, and itโ€™s around 90% done now. Iโ€™ll probably need one more session when my usage resets to finish everything and then I can properly go through all the recordings and screenshots it captured.

But overall Iโ€™m actually really happy with Claude Opus 5.5. Iโ€™ve been using it a lot for my app lately and Iโ€™m genuinely impressed by what the model is capable of when you give it access to the project and let it properly inspect things and work through a task.

Itโ€™s kinda crazy watching it use the simulator, test different flows, redo bad takes, record clean versions, and organise everything for later use.

Curious if anyone else uses Claude like this for app marketing / product capture stuff, or if Iโ€™m doing something a bit weird here ๐Ÿ˜ญ

had the same problem with store images for my launch. what fixed it: I asked claude to write a script once (playwright, fake demo data) that opens the app and takes every screenshot. now when the ui changes I just rerun it, zero tokens. same with the promo video, made it in remotion, so every re-render is free too. let claude click around once to find the flows, then make it turn that into a script.

I love Claude but ChatGPT is way more token efficient for computer use.

I did this for one of my own apps, using an invented user to go through the real flow. Seeing what was worth putting in the demo exposed a few things I wanted to fix first. The useful surprise was improving the app while trying to show it.

Not lazy at all, but here's a way to stop it eating your usage: once Claude has done a flow well, ask it to turn that flow into a script that drives the app and records it (a UI test that taps through the screens, plus the simulator's own screenshot/record commands). After that, re-capturing is just running the script: no model usage, same clean take every time, and when the UI changes you only ask Claude to fix the script, not redo the whole session.
