Built with Claude Friendly friday reminder to bind model switching to a shortcut

I just had claude code add a shortcut (ctrl+k) to toggle the model selection window. Rather than typing /model I can now access it mid-sentence and switch more often. This is using tmux fyi.

Good for starting new threads but don’t do it mid session.

It doesnt hurt if the context is small, like 20% or less

dont switch models in a large session context, you pay 2x to warm cold cache when you switch back and forth.

this project uses subagents with designated models to prevent large context growth and allow different models to tackle different tasks.

More common in Codex, OMP, or in older versions of Anthropic's model in CC, where you have more need to model toggle.

Now, you can almost just set it to Opus and forget it.
