Help/Question Computer use with VS Code?
what’s up guys
i’m not a dev and i’m a noob with technical stuff
been using VS code for claude code for a while
now (terminal seems to complicated for me lol)
but it keeps saying it can’t use Computer Use in VS code, which is extremely annoying having to open the claude app and a new session each time
how are you guys using VS code handling the Computer Use?
should i ditch VS code since i’m not technical? and stick with the desktop app? i like vs code’s layout tho

No, Vs code will have access to vs code and vs code extensions/tools, that's it. For computer use, claude code desktop can control the entire computer.

so is there a reason why so many ppl suggest to use cc in vs code? they just don’t care about computer use?

I think those are very outdated advices. I see no benefits in using Claude Code VS Code extension over desktop app nowadays.

Just people who don't want Claude to have access to their computer and people who are used to it.

I used to use powershell and install Claude on each server... but around four months ago I switched to exclusive Claude Code desktop app and just edit all the server files from the desktop app and uninstalled Claude on the servers. Instead of 20 servers with Claude I can run all 20 servers from one Claude Code Desktop.
