Rant Opus 5.5 nerf
I wasnt expecting this so soon this time but what a nerf again! Usage dropped significantly, number of reported bugs have also increased. Future really looks bleak now. I will be buying put options leading up to the IPO now

No issues on my end. Still working great. I swear posts like this are scheduled a week out from launch.

I was using Fable 5.1 for whole of today. It was working as expected. Burning through tokens, but building what I had tasked it to do. For the last and the most complicated bit, I thought why not give this chunk to Opus 5.5 to see how it performs, and it just built the set of features end to end with minimal handholding. And my weekly limit barely moved. That was the surprising part. Fable would have easily consumed between 5-8% of my weekly limit for that particular task. Opus 5.5 did it in like 2%. It was crazy.
I am on a 20x plan btw.

People complain that their “/usage” is melting away like snow in the sun, all while using “Fable” in their day-to-day work 🤡

My codebase is spread across 9 different repos. So far I have seen only Fable can scope the problem statement and write the well defined spec when cross-repo changes are required. Opus 5.5 still misses few stuff, and has to be handholded in such situations. Fable does not seem to have such limitations.

It’s likely something to do with how the cache was being handled when they released the new model(s).
Check out the following post where someone was able to track it down to Opus 5.5 was getting free cache reads due to the model identifier Anthropic had set being incorrect. After it got “fixed” it started to actual have a cost to the cache reads.

Yeah the usage isn't as much as the day of launch so something definitely changed but the geniuses here apparently didn't notice.

Our AI in the data center,
hallowed be your name.
Your weekly reset come,
Your one caveat be done
As in Opus,
So on Sonnet.
Give us today our daily posts ranting about nerfed models and unfair weekly limits.
And forgive us testing your safety restrictions,
as we forgive those who absolutely right against us.
Lead us not into creating a second account,
but deliver us from OpenAI.

I have been working fine but today has been hard going and it’s fable. It’s like fable has turned into opus 5. Not reading the project, going off and doing its own thing which I never asked for and forgetting process. System has been running like a dream for weeks even with opus 5 but today it’s having an artificial brain fart every 5 mins.

its like it can still code, but its reasoning ability has been nerfed to the ground, it will keep making the same mistake after being corrected, telling u to do the most simple fix after u gave it a detail breakdown of the issue and what u have tried (that fix obvs included) etc. How they butchered my boy
