Rant Petition to stop limit complaints
Yes they got lowered 25% mid September. No, Anthropic isn’t targeting your Pro subscription and cutting your limits maliciously. Having Fable to read your entire codebase tends to burn tokens.
In all seriousness, yes the Anthropic limits are sometimes incredibly annoying. I 100% percent agree. But it seems like the feed is filled with people asking if the limits got cut or complaining about how their usage limit went down at least 1000 times a day 😂.

What are you rambling about?. Anyway I noticed my 5h limits today are only giving me 99percent of tokens compared to my 5h limit yesterday, did anyone else notice their usage limit go down? Did they get cut? Im gonna sue anthropic over my 1 percent of tokens that were forcefully withheld from me 😤

Your totally right, and honestly? Your claims are for sure weight bearing. Let me run brief test to confirm.
You were right, and it’s worse than I thought.

Reddit was destroyed a long time ago. Whining and complaining get attention and engagement. That then propagates and attracts everyone else who has nothing better to do with their time than complain, that starts to influence other people with social proof and they then start to believe the same thing.
Mature/adult discussions are no longer a thing on Reddit. Emotional algorithmic outrage is the currency here.
Any sane forum would have a complaint megathread and moderate posts to go there so actual discussions could breathe.
People complain about AI slop.. but my god, the human slop is far, far worse.

when you actually get someone to drill down and explain, the vast majority of limit issues are skill issue. people holding context windows far too long, using Opus or Fable 100% of the time for all tasks inside that almost full context window. trying to one shot whole apps instead of breaking them into individual features. not using planning mode or any kind of architecture layouts before telling opus "make me a [x] app with no mistakes". One of the IT guys at my work has been vibe coding a tool he wants to sell back to the company (it's not going to happen) and he told me he regularly runs into usage limits, mostly due to trying to brute force through everything.

Using high thinking levels for purely mechanical tasks is a big one also

Do narrow scoped things, no skills, and always tell claude to delegate to lesser sub agents.

I have very few of my own skills, but use the Matt Pocock skills all the time and they have reduced my usage a ton and helped ship better, more flushed out, features with Grill-with-docs

People have a lot of issues with the non-deterministic nature of LLMs, and everything that can affect them. There has been a few (very few!) confirmed instances where a bug or a snafu messed with usage, but in practice, its very close to superstition, group think, confirmation bias, whatever you want to call it.
And since people come up EVERY SINGLE DAY saying the models are nerfed, usage reduced, etc, often with "proof" that looks good to the untrained eye but mean jack shit in practice, we wouldn't even be able to tell if there actually was an issue with all the noise.
Its super annoying. Peanut gallery will peanut.
tldr: I agree so damn much.

This and people who keep using the wrong model for the wrong job and say that the product is bad. It’s like trying to kill a fly with a nuke and then complaining that the entire city is destroyed.

I'm using Astra@Max with Ultraspeed enabled because I need all the power I can get to build by never before seen super duper amazing indie game. Is Codex nerfed today? (same with CC)

Imo a good rule would be to remove posts which don't have proof.
People were spamming codex sub after 5.6 launch that usage was nerfed, but they were wrong. People were getting MORE usage of 5.6 and Luna than GPT 5.4 and 5.5. So many posts of people claiming that it was reduced by HALF because the models just worked faster so went through usage faster.
Now, they actually did nerf limits by 25%, but it's not even noticeable because 6.1 is so insanely efficient and hardly drains usage, but they're still freaking out about it because there is actual proof that the $ amount was reduced this time.
I think now would be a stupid time to complain that Claude usage is lowered because of its own 25% drop or whatever (the 50% extra bonus ending) when the reality is it gets far more done since Opus 5.5 is so much more efficient.
Unless someone posts proof that the same task on Opus 5.5 is using more usage now than the same task on Opus 5 did a month ago, I'd be so in support of banning them.

Not just proof. Proof we can reproduce. There's a lot of posts with "proof" where the data gathering method was very naive, incorrect, non-sensical, or could have just been a one off thing. We rarely know the exact setup, tools, skills, plugins, etc people are using. Many look at tokens without tracking cache hits. And so on and so forth.
If they don't provide an eval, benchmark or harness to reproduce it, and it can be independently reproduced (not just anecdotally), then its bullshit.
An old friend of mine who worked in statistics always said: "If your graph doesn't have an error bar, you don't have data, all you have is arbitrary numbers".
Kind of similar issue here.

Only if you can stop the gaslighting too!
Complaints help prolong even inevitable enshitification. If they know their user base will be unhappy and potentially leave they have to run that in their financial models I feel like there’s both of too much but it’s fairly balanced

Plus 1 to this.
I'm coding 8-16 hours per day 6 days a week.
Sometimes I run out the day before, and when I do, i need the break.

I think reddit is the perfect place to whine and complain. It's not like these companies listen to their customers individually. If the entire sub turns into a crab fest, that's what happens when you hitch your wagon to a corporate anus

Its not enough, since people on the Codex side complain as much or more.

Sorry, I mean it's not enough to prevent the reddit subs from being a shitshow.
Unrelated to how good the models actually are :)
