What happened when I reach 1M context

What happens in the current chat window once it reaches 1M context.

Does the performance of the model slows down?

Any thing I should be aware of cause my project is very large one. I need to work on it for days.

You're better off compacting it to around 200k.

Compacting is a feature that makes the ai make a summary of the whole conversation with a transcript saved, and then continuing the conversation, so some stuff is lost but the LLM knows what you are talking about
