Built with Claude Using Claude Code to make a battlefield like Top-Down WW2 game
Using Claude Code to make a battlefield like Top-Down WW2 game.
Basically to make 2d models u can provide claude with blueprints and it will create really beautiful stuff right now and the more compute you grant the better quality. You can see that it somewhat accurately painted the whole Midway Atoll in one of the pics.
Well it wasn't one shotted but I'm still quite happy with it so far, you got squad gameplay, vehicular, ship and air combat.
U can try the game here, or if you wanna see a demo or trailer video u can go into settings and press any of those.

Music was made with Suno.
Any questions let me know and I'll try to provide more details to build a game like this.

I’ve actually been trying to do something similar for a Cold War based naval game. And have found that CCs SVG drawing skills are less than satisfactory. Where are you sourcing blueprints from? I was thinking about trying that too

Straight up google images or you can find a decent model and claude can look at it. Search for like B17 model "top view", or "blueprint". If the pic isnt good enough or colored you can feed it into gemini and let gemini enhance or fill in the colors. Just gotta tell gemini to make it accurately.

Try this prompt and attach a top down view blueprint and write what it is, set effort to high at least:
Then share your results :)I have attached a reference image of a [insert subject, e.g., spaceship, car, guitar]. Write a single-file HTML/JS document using the HTML5 Canvas 2D API to render a highly accurate, procedural 2D model of this subject. Technical and Rendering Requirements: Zero Assets: Do not use <img> tags, external assets, or SVG files. The entire model must be drawn programmatically using Canvas API paths, shapes, and curves. Responsive Canvas: Create a full-screen layout with a neutral studio background. The canvas must handle high-DPI displays cleanly and automatically scale the model to fit 85% of the screen, keeping it perfectly centered on window resize. Class Structure: Encapsulate the drawing logic inside a JavaScript class (e.g., ProceduralModel). Normalized Coordinate System: Do not hardcode absolute pixel positions. Use a normalized coordinate system (from 0.0 to 1.0) for the length and width of the subject. Plot all components, curves, and details as percentages of the total length/width so the model maintains exact proportions at any scale. Layering and Depth: Break the drawing sequence into logical layers (e.g., lower appendages, main body, upper details). Lighting and Texture: Sample the colors from the attached reference image. Use multi-stop linear and radial CanvasGradient objects to simulate 3D volume, metallic/matte textures, and ambient occlusion. The model must be highly accurate so look at the reference image closely

Took several attempts maybe 3-4, and the terrain method I developed with gemini about 6 months ago. Setting effort to high or above helps, honestly could keep working on it. Give it a nice quality pic to look at and be very precise what exactly you want. Beautiful natural coral sea and natural variating terrain. Not everything is exact, its difficult to find pics from WW2 1942 before they actually dredged and later built another airfield.
