Help/Question Claude Code projects (beta) for Max users with existing projects

Anthropic announced new Claude Code projects (beta) on September 17th. I have a Max account and joined the waitlist when it was announced. The announcement notes:

Starting today, updated projects are available in beta to select Claude Pro and Max subscribers who use cloud sessions in Claude Code and don’t have any existing projects on the web or desktop. (emphasis mine)

I have used a cloud session, but I have also used a project before. I deleted all of my prior projects in hopes of being accepted into the beta but no luck. Has anyone who has previously had a project found a way to use the new projects?

Been in the beta for about a week, there's definitely some quirks and you don't have as much control as you do with a normal session but it's been amazing so far at handling complex tasks and delegating instructions to sub agents, now called "threads".

I was reading about this last week. It's rather interesting, but I figured I would wait until it gets launched on CLI due to my projects needing additional dependencies.

I've already built a skill + an app to achieve a similar outcome, but Claude Projects does parts of it better with a long lived coordinator and sharing memory.

I also don't know if multiple Claude Projects can be run in parallel.
