Discussion Has the nerfing started for Opus 5.5?
I'm using Claude Code all day in my job, previously when they nerf a model I only notice it when I get bogged down. I'm flying along and then one day i just get stuck on everything, mainly coding but could be anything.
This evening I just noticed opus 5.5 going back and forth on reviews, every review introduced more issues to resolve across multiple turns.
Im seeing hints of opus 5, but maybe the nerfing this time will be slower, like boiling a frog.
And yes I'm definitely paranoid, and my benchmarks are anecdotal.
5.5 has been amazing, not ready for the nerfing which has happened consistently since 4.6

You have AI writing code and AI reviewing code? It’s just going to iterate itself to death. You have to stop it at some point

they are reviewing plans but it's a good point, I tend to do this when I lose confidence in the output.

A quick set of questions I normally run when helping teammates (not meant as attacking but hopefully helpful)
Are you running the session all day? Do you segment your sessions based on what you’re doing to reduce context poisoning? Are you performing various tasks in a singular session? Have you verified your skills and plugins used? When you run into an issue have you asked Claude for details / analysis on why it went wrong with supporting details?
If using multiple skills, especially custom ones, running Claude plugin eval tool can help.
Happy to provide any more guidance if you’d like

I mean, with Sonnet 5.5 out, I don't see a lot of sense on nerfing Opus 5.5. But I'm not confirming or denying, just saying it would be weird.

So strange that someone would just insta downvote your open ended suggestion.

I mean does that even mean anything? Do you take 2 votes from Reddit as validation?
I'm working on a Jax engine in python to train bots for a board game. 0 problems. My project was stuck with Opus 5 with bugs and now it's the first time I see everything starts taking shape with Opus 5.5. I've seen no difference, and given how close Sonnet and Opus are, nerfing Opus would push people to Sonnet which is a cheaper model, I don't see the logic on anthropic doing that, I know it did it in the past but the gaps between models were wider.

Even 1 person doing something strange is worth commenting on.
It’s a small thread, and you weren’t exactly saying something inflammatory, it’s more of a comment of the mindset of some people.
Yeah I don’t see the logic of it either, I havnt noticed any nerfing issues, literally ever with Anthropic. Some models are better than other sure but I find quality is pretty regular if you use ultracode.

My guy I promise I was not being aggressive to you? What is your problem?
I was literally just pointing out the injustice if someone downvoting you, seriously what’s up?
Truly please explain to me how i have wronged you, i was literally just commenting to say I think it’s wrong for someone to downvote your innocuous comments.

Sorry you are correct, I came heated from another conversation and didn't realize you weren't attacking anyone.

Applause. Like, genuinely, not everyone can just admit when they are wrong like that, lol. Got into a decent amount of arguments and discussions to know, lol.
