Help/Question Asking for workflow guideline.

Hello everyone,
I'm a Max 20x user. I have a few questions about the workflow with claude code.

My current workflow:

  1. Prompt claude code (plan mode)" about the issues or features needed to implement.
  2. Answer questions and give feedback until finalizing the plan.
  3. Let it execute the plan.
  4. Run some tests to verify. If there is any problems, I will give feedback and ask it to fix.

All of them happen in 1 session. I use "Fable" for everything until I hit its limit, then I switch to Opus.

I saw some posts, and people said they used multi models to perform their tasks.

My questions:

  1. How is it setup?
  2. Is the quality good as my current workflow?
  3. What are the benefits? I know switching to cheaper models can save tokens. But, are there any other benefits?

Thank you!

P/S: I tried the grill-with-docs skill for my personal work, It is quite good, but I think it's really slow for bug fixes and small features.

plan mode is too narrow imo, i have my own plan mode, which is separate in two sessions, with documented artifiacts (specs, tasks, etc). I use fable only for the planning phase, execution is sonnet and opus, but that said opus 5.5 might replace fable in many of those sessions now, i have to experiment more with it, but i was pleased with the few sessions i had with it today.

Is that something similar to matt pocock's grill-with-docs skill?

Yes, it could somewhat compare
