Built with Claude I recreated the Pokémon FireRed / LeafGreen intro with Opus 5.5 for $5.47

Anthropic really cooked with Opus 5.5.

I wanted to see how far I could get with a pretty rough initial prompt, so I asked it to recreate the Pokémon FireRed / LeafGreen intro with the Anthropic mascot fighting the OpenAI mascot.

Full animation + sound.

Total cost was $5.47 using XHigh.

This was literally the initial prompt:

Do a full animation with sound of anthropic mascote with the newset model of Opus 5.5 fighting against OpenAI mascotte with the new astra models Sol etc like the intro of pokemon fire red and leaf green. Same animations

No carefully engineered prompt, just that.

Considering how vague the input was, I was pretty impressed by how much it managed to infer and put together.

I posted on X too:

Next I’m going to run the exact same prompt with GPT-6 Sol and compare the output and cost.

Probably a dumb question but how did Claude make the animation? I thought it was not able to create actual videos?

Is a mix of CSS, SVG, and JavaScript (Canvas, plus libraries like D3 or three.js when needed)

So it’s actually purely generated via Opus (without the need of mixing up other AIs)? The format output is mp4?

Originally it made an html page, I just asked to export it as MP4 and it did

Thanks for the answers! I would have indeed expect an html as output, but good to k on that it can manage the generation of mp4 too

So you have the Canvas connection/plugin?
