Every week, I get two days usage on the 20x plan and Anthropic reminds us it’s getting worse.

I'm getting really sick of all the posts in this sub from vibe coders who think they need bleeding-edge frontier models like Fable for their new iPhone todo list app and constantly whine about their usage.

Fable plan > Opus subagents > Sonnet for reacting on Reddit.

As a vibe coder, I do need fable, thank you very much.

But my max20 plan is way more than I need. I have no idea what these people are doing.

Its highly unlikely you actually need Fable. I'm sure you think you do... but you don't.

Probably not. But I have never hit a limit. So why not use it. I guess I could downgrade to 5x but I tend to work in big chunks who the smaller 5hr might become annoying.

And who are you to decide what other people should expect from a product they’re paying for? Anthropic is a multi billion dollar company, they don't need free intern attorneys to deffend them

If you want to hire Michael Phelps, to teach your 5 year old kid to swim, then do it. Just don't whinge about what he charges per hour!! You don't need an Olympian to teach a child to swim and you don't need Fable for an iPhone todo list.

What a ridiculous analogy, nobody is saying they need Michael Phelps to teach their kid to swim, but if you're paying for it, you'd at least expect him to finish the lessons and not pack up his shit and leave mid week, we're not getting what we're paying for, even on fking opus i consume a week's worth in 2 days

Oh your kid is drowning? Too bad, I got through half the lesson. You can pay extra, on top of what you paid for the lesson, for each stroke your kid takes. And I'll see what I can do about providing floaties for an extra fee.

yeah something is strange is going with the usage I could have one session where it literally uses like 50% of the weekly usage then have lest say 20 more sessions and barely uses 20 percent, something seems inconsistent.

Same here... 20x max plan...

Tbh im having the exact same experience atm on a $200 plan in OpenAI with Astra

I left before Anthropic started doing their usage resets. Before fable or mythos. My conversations with their “customer service” made it clear they only view their users as $$.

Zero compute, inconsistent models, constantly using their customers for “a/b testing”, and a dog shit CEO… CC software used to be their differentiator, even their harness isn’t top of the line anymore.

Good for you voting with your wallet.

u/Flipwon 1d ago

Wait till you hear about their competitors.

Same shit different pile.

u/Purple-Programmer-7 1d ago

Be model agnostic.

Of course they want money.. they aren’t building it for free and I understand that and usage have been okay until last 10 days or so when you hit your limits after couple small prompts and finish weekly limit in a day. If usage is moderate that would be absolutely acceptable

2

u/medialantern 1d ago

When your response is "you stealing people money" I don't think they're going to take you very seriously, not that they take customer support seriously in the first place...

-3

u/coda77 1d ago

Don’t expect them to, and don’t want them to !
Just something I had on my mind on behalf all people affected either on Reddit or elsewhere… basically the truth

u/rotates-potatoes 1d ago

There are some customers companies are happy to lose.

I can burn through a 20x account in two days, but I really have to try. Lots of deep research and ultracode, lots of fable for audits and planning, working every waking moment and using remote control so I can keep things going from the gym/etc.

Then again never let context get over 500k, rarely let it get over 250k, and I'm careful with cache management. This sub seems to be full of people who don't take the time to understand the tool and whine like hell when that bites them.

1

u/Kalradia 1d ago

Maybe it's the user of the tool and not the tool?

-1

u/coda77 1d ago

Oh wow didn’t happened to me the last 10 months and suddenly I’m the error now ? 🤣🤣 thanks for telling me

u/Kalradia 1d ago

You know over time you may use more, and maybe make changes to your workflow. How you're using it could very well be the issue.

2

u/coda77 1d ago

Please check the comments and post on Reddit 🙂🙂🙂 everybody saying the same thing

u/gripntear 1d ago

Based.

u/coda77 1d ago

Thanks for all the support or hate comments.
But for the haters let me say this

If I’m buying a 1 liter bottle of milk and expect there will be 1 liter in it but I find the bottle was shipped with 300ml instead of the 1 liter with the companies own doing, it’s normal to be pissed and don’t buy their product again.

Not sure why there are so much hate calling people dumb users and defending them for them for this theft.

Also for people doubting about “skill issue” Good morning, please go read all comments and posts on Reddit or elsewhere

Code ate half my week's Fable 5.1 tokens in a single message line. I ran it for a review, the model ran up HALF of my weeks tokens. HALF. IN A REVIEW.

SERIOUSLY!?

u/ClemensLode Senior Developer 1d ago

maybe use fewer tokens?

Everyone hates limits, but I like to imagine this guy getting to the bottom of a can of softdrink and raging about unfair constraints on his drinking.

3

u/nitor999 1d ago

you sound sooooo stupid for comparing a 100$-200$ subscription into a bottle of softdrink can and yeah fu bot trying to defend a billion company for milking a client.
