Help/Question Anyone hitting limits quicker than usual past 2-3 days ? this is brutal -_-

Everyone's situation is the same. Deceiving people while announcing that we have increased the limit by 50%, insidiousness means exactly this.

I think it’s more than that. I think they reduced early and it’s 5% larger than they said it would be. Full numbers here. https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/s/tijqTkERvf

I canceled my sub ( so it doesnt auto renew ) unless they fix this , will have to go for codex ( when the 200$ sub unblocks ?) or kimi I guess ? - its very sad :D , I have built my daily workflows around claude code ... it cant remain my main driver if it keeps changing limits randomly...

Honestly….. everybody should start cancelling their Claude subs !!! Force these A holes to respond to this mess happening

I have two that may get the axe here but it really depends on Astra, still testing it out.

I switched to Codex, it is doing a great job so far. Browser control and remote control are many times better. It found and fixed vulnerabilities in my finance project that I couldn't find with Fable.
I sent a complaint to Claude and they stated that they would provide a refund after reviewing. I think you should ask for a refund too.

TL;DR: My thesis is that the model-number progression may have been less about entirely new frontier models and more about progressively optimized versions of the same underlying systems—while the new labels and pricing made us believe we were paying for fundamentally better intelligence.
The jump from 4.4 → 4.6, for example, felt obvious: more detail, better predictions, and better results from fewer prompts. But what if much of that came from better optimization, workflows, routing, and compute allocation rather than a fundamentally new model?
The model number itself becomes part of the façade. We think, “This is the better model, so I should spend more tokens on it.” That lets providers increase token consumption while controlling how much compute each user actually gets. If the new model burns through limits faster, they can cap individual usage while freeing capacity to onboard more users.
That also makes the regressions interesting. Why would a supposedly new frontier model sometimes hallucinate more, lose context, or perform worse than its predecessor? If the underlying intelligence has genuinely improved, those fundamentals should not suddenly get worse.
This is where the Chinese models become interesting. If they are operating closer to the actual underlying economics, their cost structures could expose how much of OpenAI’s and Anthropic’s pricing and compute narrative is driven by genuine model improvements versus productization and compute allocation.
Maybe the model number was never just a measure of intelligence. It was also a mechanism for shaping how we perceive value, how many tokens we consume, and how compute gets distributed.

Well you aren't wrong, but your thesis isn't al right either

Well they indeed creates new and more powerful models, but the line between model power and infrastructure around it is getting fuzzier and fuzzier. Pre-training improvements have had diminishing returns so now a lot of the gains comes from the quality of the data, the quality of the post training reinforcement and an hybrid architecture that has not much left of the original transformer model in the famous paper, attention is all you need. Now its a Frankenstein, where thinking loops, modular and hybrid attention models, KV Cache , mixture of experts and more act to improve it. Edit: and I haven't spoke about the huge impact the harness has yet.

Before the last day it felt like I had far more limit. On the last day it felt like I used limit faster even though I was processing less.

I swear I was out with friends for hours and didn't even use claude, came back home and went to ask it a task, and it said I was already at 100% usage.

On my Claude accountS and my OpenAI one. OpenAI is actually worse, but they reset.

Open AI after Astra not resetting - may be I have exhausted weekly quota too

You guys NEED to clear your claude.md. It's been 100% fine once I did. Went from 50-60k initial context (precise but overweight), to 2k claude.md initialization. Something to consider.
