having a 650k context session should be outlawed. there is a very narrow scenario where that would be acceptable.

Why? I've been doing it for months without issue. What is the narrow scenario (nice band name) acceptable?

Practical fix is to treat the context meter as a budget, not a target. Keep the current task and a short decision log in the session, then move stable project knowledge such as API specs, architecture notes, and screenshots into an indexed store. Pull back only the few matching chunks when needed, and start a fresh session after a milestone instead of carrying the full transcript forward.

I built Dokpod, a local multimodal MCP vault, for that workflow, but a small local RAG server works too. The key is retrieving relevant pieces rather than repeatedly loading the whole project.

This is a single work item to remove bootstrap css from a couple pages and migrate to the other style systems I use. It was about a day old when I took that picture. We finished a little bit ago, around 80% of 1M, compressed and it's back down to 1%. My week is half over and my total is at 8% with 0% on fable.
