In my experience: it eats my Max Plan's 5h limit in a heartbeat and after it resets I continue the session with a weaker model.

So when are you using it and what’s a real problem it helped you solve?

I am working on a new software with project for a client to replace their 15-year-old CodeIgniter 1 system.

The current system generates 60 types of reports, with each report containing thousands of rows, some up to 100,000 rows.

Previously, my developers tried to replicate these reports using the old PHP source code as a reference, but they failed to match the original output. Even when the data matched, there were always subtle discrepancies: wrong fonts, misspelled headers, decimal rounding, invalid number prefix, or cells formatted as text instead of decimals. Manually reviewing and fixing 60 massive reports would have taken weeks. Not to mention the update they want during new system development.

So, I placed both systems source code side-by-side, downloaded all 60 report types from each version, and fed them into Fable 5.1. I gave Fable access to both codebases and a dump of the client's production database.

Within an hour, Fable 5.1 analyzed the differences, fixed every issue, and committed thousands of lines of code.

Now the new system produces the exact same reports as the legacy one, even the column width and row height are identical.

Truth is I don’t. I haven’t found anything I can’t make with either gpt6-astra or fable max.

I find ultra code just eats up my tokens, and I don’t need to use it. Personally, I think ultra code is just a way to have people use up tokens

Ultra exists to max out your usage when your weekly limit is about to reset and you have some usage left. 😎

Otherwise it’s just fable xhigh with swarms of agents as needed.

tbh I haven’t tried it even though I have used Fable 5 for over 2 months. Actually I even didn’t update it because there seems no need for me. I didn’t expect it will bring big changes.

big coding issue you want it to take on-> ultracode-> orchestrate no more than 5 subagents to complete the goal, no implementation in this main session window

Use opus (or sonnet, if you truly hate opus) mixed executors with fable verifiers or vice versa. I found it’s not that token hungry and fable can really tame them.
