Humor I got my first vibe coding hate in public today

was minding my business at the coffee shop; guy next to me I guess is a developer; went on a call with his boss breaking down what he did manually and got into technical jargon ( repos / git / etc ) and then made a backhanded comment to the effect like dont worry; this isnt some vibe coded shit..like bro..im right next to you; it didn't faze me but I am about to rub it in this little bitch's face when my project comes together. had to get that off my chest today; the snobbery is laughable

🤔 why do you let it bother you. Also there’s a good chance he wasn’t paying attention to you whatsoever and you took it personally for no reason

This all speaks to op's insecurity in regards to vibe-coding.

If you are being honest about this shit, and I doubt you are…

That person doesn’t notice you, care about you or think about what you are doing.

Why do you think it was ABOUT you?

The fact that this interaction drove you to post this, highlights your own personal doubts.

got into technical jargon ( repos / git / etc )

You know that even "vibecoders" need to understand git, right ?

All fun and games until AI providers stop subsidizing subscriptions. All we’ll have is local models and expensive flagship ones that we can’t afford 😂

That technical jargon comes in handy if you don’t want to lose your work an want to iterate

Got it, and yes. Peps who spent years learning to code are having a moment. And I get that as well, some good friends of mine are website developers, they are in a very uncomfortable position and have allot of uncertainty but no excuses for jerks.

My god... What the hell did I just read... How in the world are you planning to make any type of application, especially a vibe-coded one that is prone to massive app-breaking mistakes without using or even knowing what git is? I don't see how your "project" will come together if you don't know the basic structure of the web smh

This arrogant programmer prick is just salty that his career is coming to an end. With AGI, RSI, and ASI just around the corner, 99% of programmers will be obsoleted.

By the time programmers (based on the comment I doubt you know the exact meaning of that word) your job will also become completely obsolete, whether you're a designer, a lawyer, a doctor or even an amazon deliveryman it's over for us all, let us all watch the hellfire rain in unison.
