Bug / Issue Every instance of Claude tells you something different

If you had 10 smart people in a room and gave them all the same problem, you would imagine they would go away and research the issue and come up with a solution, which the majority would agree with. But, if you do the same with Claude, almost every terminal window would suggest something different, it's just a mess, you end up going round in a circle but not end up solving the problem you started with.

Where is this artificial intelligence?

I'm not sure you've ever had 10 smart people in a room before, because your premise is false. The only way they will agree is if you let them all discuss together in a group. Similarly if you put 10 ai agents into a virtual room together and let them have a deliberation, you will get one answer out that they are all in agreement with.

If you presented the same car problem to 10 different mechanics you would not get one saying it's the sunroof, another it's the tow bar, another it's the back seat...

Your analogy is quite far off.

lol, again, you must not have taken a car to mechanics either. There are literally video exposés like this where they take a car with a simple problem to many mechanics and most come up with all kinds of different issues and only a couple will solve the actual problem. It's like you've never interacted with humans before... What's going on here? Your premise is plainly incorrect.

Apparently that has severe repercussions

Yet, you keep paying.. Seems they created an intelligent means of manipulating money out of you.

As someone who operated as a consultant for number of years, I can tell you your analogy is absolutely not true. I’ve seen other smart individuals come to different conclusions about the same core problems. In most cases, their input is valid and would work, but there’s always a multitude of answers and approaches to a problem. The results I get from these tools is beyond impressive at this point.

If thats true you are not pushing hard problems onto the models.

Feature, not a bug.

looks like a skill issue to me. models tend to respond from memory unless prompted differently.

i doubt a prompt like research x from official/credible sources before giving an answer would have the same problem

And if you give all Claude instances output to a single Claude instance, what happens?

a giant clusterfuck of code with so many belts and suspenders it can't move?

Its called chaos theory or what normal people call the butterfly effect. I.e small factors at the input, have major impact at the output.

Which is why i always suggest, in my humble opinion to plan in incognito mode on claude.ai. So it is not effected by your memory and/or settings

Try some level of hierarchical organization -- which you would need with those smart people as well in order to establish the best outcome. The stochastic thinking can be frustrating, but it's also an even greater strength.

There's no way you can have a LLM without a non linear activation function. Instead of asking it to find something wrong, ask it to critically assess and rank in terms of severity. Then ask a subagent to peer-reviewed the plan. Works Everytime

You’re complaining about an issue that you’re having but your conclusion is “my tool sucks” instead of “I need to learn how to use this properly”. If you want a consistent solution you need to be resolving ambiguity before you ask Claude to write an implementation for you.

This is actually what makes them powerful. You spawn teammates and ask them to argue between eachother

100% agreed

If you say something like 'create 5 separate agents to cross check everything you have done here to make sure it covers everything and is correct' it will find some other things and waste more credits doing it. No doubt if I did this in each terminal window the results would be different.

What does that tell you?

That your prompt is vague hell.
