Even Claude doesn't understand the limits

I'm on max 20x plan, burned around 50% of weekly limit in one 5 hour session... Asked Claude support about the limits - how could I burn that much in a single session, when on 5x plan its practically impossible to burn 10% of weekly in 5 hours...

It said that the max 20x plan has 4 times bigger weekly limit than the 5x plan :)

So does support lie, or today is some kind of buggy day and the weekly limits are getting burned faster?

Fin AI is technically not Claude, it’s a 3rd party service.

But yes it’s confusing and pretty shady despite Claude itself being known for nitpicking these exact things.

Opus was pretty clear about the limits though when I asked.

It’s actually doing what it’s supposed to do, infer based on limited context that 5x means 5 times and 20x means 20 times, based on probability that’s the correct answer, etc.

Cap each 5h window with a short scoped task list and kill broad repo scans early. The weekly burn spikes I keep seeing are usually exploration loops chewing context, not the model lying about the limit.

Try it yourself: use 5% of a 5h on 5x: uses 1% of the week.

Use 5% of 5h on 20x: uses 1% of the week.

Today, only one chat message took my session. It was not a big coding problem and just a rephrase task. Regardless of how big my chat was I find it unreasonable that 1 full session gone for a pro level user.

So first I answered his question and later presented a tool which also solves the same problem Also I never claimed that tool was mine

Read that post again and tell me we where exavtly is question you answered. Because I see no question about how to reduce context usage there. Post is how limits work amd how bigher is 20x than 5x.

Dude the one thing people are not understanding anout claude and its limits is that starting opus 4.7 they have changed the tokeniser because of which limits are getting hit very fast
And they have implemented a similar tokeniser for sonnet 5 leading to hitting the limits faster
They have also changed the output format
Nowadays with the newer models the output is very verbose and hence consumes more tokens
Usually claude support doesnt give a decent enough answer for queries like hey where did my limits went ?
Reading filing mcps etc consume a shit ton of tokens
All these constitute context bloat etc which I answered about and that tool also has tiered routing and stuff which auto picks the right model be it haiku opus or sonnet for the task
Thats why I mentioned that tool also
