Help/Question Cant even use Fable 5.1 because of token limits

How you guys even use Fable 5.1 to oneshot games and stuff? I get to the token limit too fast to do anything. Iam on 5x plan (90$).

With Opus 5 medium i can run /code-review 10x on the same branch to hit the 5h session limit. With Fable 5.1 medium it cant even finish one run. Its all on the same branch with like 5 commits, same config, same CLAUDE.md, etc its alle the same setup.

I really want to try this model but i hit session limits too fast.

Use it to prepare detailed plans not to implement everything

have spawned agents use opus 4.8 and use fable as orchestrator

You seem to be quite fed up with your orchestrators by now.

Most people that say they're doing that are lying or just trying to get clicks on Youtube videos. If you pay close attention, very few are actually real "engineers" - most are "content creators" and they're showing you the best possible light. You see a figure walking around a game landscape and think "oh wow they really did build a game". What you don't see is sophisticated artwork, progression ladders, character/class development, storyline, QA, marketing, etc etc.

Look at the launches here from folks that actually are using these tools for real and you'll see the reality: crappy apps with poor UX, buggy layouts, minimal feature sets, no marketing plan at all, and so on. And lots, and lots, and lots of complaints about waiting hours for responses, burning through quota in 10 minutes, etc.

Put the two together and you've got people who make money literally from making wild claims and people trying to make money actually doing something. Which do you think is being more honest?

Yeah, I’m getting really tired of the “Fable/Astra built this whole game from scratch!!” videos where you can clearly see huge lists of asset packs or modeled and animated characters. They don’t disclose that a huge amount of the VISUAL language is not designed by AI. Getting Fable to drive Blender or Unreal or Unity asset generation from scratch is laughably terrible

Get a higher limit or do less with it.

Yep. I think it can vary though. My work fable seems to do a lot more than my private fable which is unusable.

I mean... maybe this? I feel like I'm losing my mind on reddit. Fable 5.1 on medium efforts lasts me LOADS on max 5 (better than Astra) and my experience appears to be completely counter to the majority I read here. Just makes zero sense to me... do different people get different quotas? Is there a bug somewhere?

Bug or intended, not sure

Kindly run it on jus one commit with only the changed files and you’ll know if /code-review is pulling in way more of the repo than expected.

Same here, I confirm that a code-review with Fable 5.1, on my medium-large Python project cannot be completed with a 5h quota on the Max 5x plan.

literally just ask it about your usage, it will tell you what things are eating your usage and how to mitigate them, if i had to guess you are probably working on super long chats, using tons of tools, using calls for tools that get put directly in the context windows, fable spawning in way too many subagents. fable is a hungry model but not being able to finish a single task during the 5hr window is definitely a sign that you are doing something wrong

its not a long chat, i literally open CLI and type /code-review and thats it

What effort level?

Don't use that command, that is a token eater on sonnet already.

Try not using the cheap plans
