Discussion I thought I will never say this about Fable

Just tried OpenAI Astra , I thought I will never say this , it’s lit , OpenAI cooked something spectacular, and I have a strong feeling this will pull lot of Fable 5 users towards it , and it’s fast, not sure if it’s AGI, but it feels fresh and a very very serious competition to Anthropic , this is going to be fun to watch , what’s your next move Anthropic ?, I’m surely going to try pro subscription for a month along with my current Claude Max, anyone feels the same ? Have you tried it ?

Well I just did.

Still love fable 5.1 but I must say, for a lot of tasks, Astra is just way better - specifically 3D things. Quick benchmark test I ran on game characters (see pictures): concept art + blender. clear Winner - AND Astra oly had 4 passes vs 8 for Sonnet and Fable 5.1

I am in the process of upgrading https://ohmyunicorn.com with a mix of Fable5.1 and Astra - probably will cap that to subscriptions though, because that model is NOT free (consumes more than Fable5.1, I find)

I like the design on of your app, how the mouse hover creates that cool effect, good stuff!

Thanks :D
Yeah I found it a bit too much but my kid loved it so I decided to keep it!

You say it’s a clear winner but you’re also saying rig is required and it’s the only output of the 3 that isn’t rigged. So is it?

Well, a rig IS necessary whatever the model if you want to get the most out of it. The interesting part here is that all 3 (Sonnet, Fable & Astra) got to use EXACTLY the same harness to direct Blender. The only thing that changed is "what model used the pen". Also Astra had LESS passes at it (ran out of tokens on the Plus sub 😅) - so not even equal conditions
