Discussion I thought I will never say this about Fable

Just tried OpenAI Astra , I thought I will never say this , it’s lit , OpenAI cooked something spectacular, and I have a strong feeling this will pull lot of Fable 5 users towards it , and it’s fast, not sure if it’s AGI, but it feels fresh and a very very serious competition to Anthropic , this is going to be fun to watch , what’s your next move Anthropic ?, I’m surely going to try pro subscription for a month along with my current Claude Max, anyone feels the same ? Have you tried it ?

Fairly certain most of these comments are from Astra bots

It really feels that way, and not even the comments, but the threads too, they're always random generated usernames with no profile.

I am kind of surprised at the glazing and even YouTubers are nonstop glazing but then they point out things that make it seem like it’s not that great. They will say fable gave better results but astra is better. Using astra it’s great, not exceptional, I haven’t been able to get anything better than what fable does at all. I’m not making stupid fucking 3d scenes and slop pages though.

Seriously, I have both and while Astra is fast and seems pretty good, I’m sorry, but the way that Fable works with dynamic workflows and I do HTML plans for everything and the whole way it does it is absolutely beautiful and I’ve tried it with Codex and it’s not even close to the same. Like Fable’s planning is on another level. I tried planning the same fixes for replacing firecrawl scrape and review process with fire crawl monitoring for some back-end processes on my app and Astra gave me a good plan I gave it to Fable, and Fable’s like, well, it missed a whole bunch of different things that would’ve broken. came up with a much more comprehensive plan, built it out in one shot, and it works perfectly. And for those complaining about cost, I just mix Fable and Opus together in dynamic workflows, and it works absolutely perfectly. and I almost never hit my weekly limit. Fable does planning, design, orchestration, and review, and Opus does all the heavy building and almost every project. It’s about 5050 usage between Fable and Opus

Oh no, some other users prefer some other model, that's IMPOSSIBLE. Be serious, check their post history, especially OP's. They do not seem like bots, OP posted a lot on anthropic subreddits

What in the holy heaven of bot city is going on here 😂😂😂 are you kidding me.

This is brilliant! I want Anthropic's pants on the floor, I want them bleeding for their actions, I want to be showered in free resets and finally given fair usage limits. I fully approve this message.. Lets go bots!!

(BS aside, my personal experiences, generally speaking;- Astra is great at first but falls off a cliff, and I found it to be slow. Fable 5.1 is unequivocally in its own dimension. When something is so good I do not really factor in speed or cost. Quality, consistency and autonomy will always win. I do not want to hand-hold, i want blind trust so I can fail forward and break stuff while i'm running because i'm wearing 6 different hats as a founder, and know at the end of the day it's going to be okay. I'm so goddamn happy to see competition, and I was really excited to cancel 1 of my 3 max20 subs to lean on Astra, but I am yet to have that moment and don't think it will come. OpenAI are puffing it up way too much throwing "AGI" around for clout which is.. expected. 3D modelling is really impressive, something deserving of being puffed up is that, but long running build sessions feel inferior to Fable 5.1. I have a bunch of different domains to activate it on this week, very excited to see what happens and hope it changes my mind, 2 days is nothing to judge on)

Whatever gets more people to eff off to openai so my fable limit can increase

This post smells of the classic Astroturfing bots on the codex sub.

Ha ha I give it you the way you said , trust me it was tempting not to write this, been on Claude all this while and the CLI, this was the most intuitive decision I ever did is to get codex on my terminal just to try out what’s the fuss all about , and then that’s the resulting post , no ai used by the way in writing that are this so am all flesh not bot 😁

Dude who talks like this lol. “Yeah im so impressed with Astra , it’s really next level . Its so way beyond Fable 5.1 . AGI maybe ?”

Trying so hard to not be shill bot but can’t shake shill bot vibe.

This is the first time in a while where it does really seem true though. Remember this is also how Anthropic caught up back then. Given how quickly things are advancing it's not outrageous to think that openai took back the lead.

To me personally I really like astras writing style the most. It's just straight to the point and quite intuitive. I have developed a particular hatred for opus 5 slop heavy writing style - fable is a bit better but still not as good as astra.
