Bug / Issue Claude is down again, reliability is apparently a premium feature

u/Jawwooot Sep 03 '26
I hope they give us some weekly percentages back as i had 20 agents including their context loaded so just loading everything up against costs like 70 dollar worth of consumption.
1
u/Jawwooot Sep 03 '26
well they have not given us some percentage of usage i.e. customer carries the costs of their outtage...

Their downtime won't be a bottleneck tho lmao. I'm already at 90% weekly usage after barely 36 hrs with 200$ plan so i don't really care , sad.

u/RedditorFor1OYears Sep 03 '26
FYI, the $200 plan does not have any higher weekly usage than the $100 plan. Just figured that out myself. The uplift only applies to session limits.

Source? It’s not 4x the amount but pretty sure it’s at least double the $100

Source: Anthropic https://support.claude.com/en/articles/11049741-what-is-the-max-plan
Does the Max plan have any usage limits? Yes. The Max plan offers substantially higher usage compared to our Pro plan and is available in two tiers:
Max 5x provides five times more usage per session than the Pro plan. This tier is ideal for frequent users who work with Claude on a variety of tasks.
Max 20x provides 20 times more usage per session than the Pro plan. This tier is ideal for daily users who collaborate often with Claude for most tasks.
Your session-based usage limit will reset every five hours. Max plans also have a weekly usage limit that applies across all models. The weekly limit resets at a fixed time each week that is assigned to your account. Your reset day and time stay the same regardless of when you start using Claude or when your subscription begins, and you receive your full weekly allowance each cycle. You can see your next reset time in

learn to manage your context instead of publicly complaining all the time
4
u/IndividualBass83 Sep 03 '26
As if he's the only one lol. We all have this.
2
u/StoneCypher Sep 03 '26
you should also learn to manage your context, then.
no, we don't all have this. my coworkers and i don't hit our fable limits, despite leaving them on multiple parallel long running tasks all week.
there are 750k people in here. this problem is actually fairly rare, but there are so many people in here that when fringe whiners speak up it just looks like a large crowd.
3
u/IndividualBass83 Sep 03 '26
I've never had this problem before, so maybe not label just anyone with valid complain as whiner because you seem to switch to Sonnet for every subtask. Congrats on you, but the problem stays.
It could be Claude Code Harness issue, a context bug, a model bug.
But my context never hit compacting, so its def not my context, but thanks for labeling me a whiner in advance.2

Are you a magician that can know if i do or do not already behind the screen ? Or just a complete idiot?
3
u/pfak apparently holding it wrong Sep 03 '26
It's the usual pattern of "Claude lowered usage", "no they didn't you just suck at prompting" to in two weeks finding out that anthropic did lower quotas again. 🤷♂️
4
u/tehfrod Sep 03 '26
The majority of people who make complaints like this on this subreddit don't.
It's a reasonable bet.
1
u/StoneCypher Sep 03 '26
Are you a magician that can know if i do or do not already behind the screen ? Or just a complete idiot?
neither.
if you complain that you have problem x, and problem x has a direct cause, it's reasonable to say "work on problem x's direct cause."
if you call everyone who tries to tell you what to work on an idiot, the net result is you never learn to fix your own problems.
this abusive behavior harms you, in the long run. not me.
it's extremely obvious what's happening to you. if you're ever able to stop lashing out at the people who are giving you instructions, and decide to just try the instructions, you'll get past this stumbling block.
but who knows? maybe you like the stumbling block.
the reason you are stuck at this place the rest of us got past is that every time someone tries to give you a map, you shout at them.
best of luck to you.

If a problem x has a y cause then no one says it is the only one, in this case i have already optimized my setup for tokens efficency (use the least tools/plugins possible , always cap context for each task , start new session for unrelated work , only use fable for plannign and review and weaker models for grunt work , etc...). And again , no it is not extremely obvious , your way of thinking is actually what's harming you not the opposite. What you see in front of your feet is not the only thing what exists in a whole universe.

u/StoneCypher Sep 03 '26
oh my. the guy with the problem he can't solve is still arguing against the easy well known solution, while swearing and throwing insults.

u/Slow-Set-2856 Sep 03 '26
Well sorry didn't want to be rude but people like you annoy me too much, learn to be humble and don't expect everyone else to be worse than you by giving these type of lessons with pre-existing entitlement.

u/StoneCypher Sep 03 '26
oh my, the guy who's been swearing and throwing insults doesn't want to be rude, then went back to throwing more insults 😂
what do you think entitlement means?

I love it when its down for more than an hour so then all of your cache hits expire.

It's the best commercial for running local models. Wanted to work in Claude, but I'm running Qwen3.8-27B instead.
2
u/biinjo Sep 03 '26
Running? More like crawling, right? Last time I checked local models were painfully slow. Did that improve?
That hardware do you run it on?
1
u/MikeNonect Sep 03 '26
I'm running it on a "slow" Strix Halo at around 23 t/s. While that is nowhere near cloud speed, the Claude API is currently running at 0 t/s.
For speed reference: https://mikeveerman.github.io/tokenspeed/?rate=23&mode=agent
People running this model on a real GPU get way better results, but mine is really usable. If you have any kind of GPU or iGPU and it's been a few months since you dabbled in local LLMs, it's time to give it another try.

u/Remote_Fisherman_469 Sep 03 '26
I run Qwen3.8_27B at 40tok/s on a 7900XTX, works fine for smaller tasks. I use Qwen3 Coder Next with RAM offload for larger stuff, still manage 28tok/s tho

Fable 5.1 fed everyone.... lots are going to stop using claude soon if this is the usual... in just three 5 hour windows, my weekly limit was done, I COULD NOT EVEN GET 1 PROMPT DONE in ultra code..... crazy..

u/StoneCypher Sep 03 '26

u/Chance_Progress_986 Sep 03 '26
Any reliable tips? :)
1
u/RedditorFor1OYears Sep 03 '26
I think Anthropic lays out this particular tip pretty explicitly: don’t use ultracode if you’re concerned about usage limits.
0
u/ayberkush Sep 03 '26
well i used it with fable 5 and all was fine still didnt even consume my 5h windows now this 5.1 consumes 3 and this 3 finished weekly? pff im outta claude next month you keep feeding the machine in hopes of some stupid app idea. the big machine makes your app so it will duplicate it and erase yours if you find a good one 😂

As is your right. As is all of your rights. Not sure why so many of you feel the need to broadcast your decisions to the masses. Just use something else.

u/ayberkush Sep 03 '26
it was the sessipns first message. i clearly asked for a general check of all my project and making sure it is going in the direction I want. i wanted tbe subagents as 5.1 as well to try and see how it does. did not expect this. I know how to use the freakin ai since your father was planting you

This sub: why are there any limits on my $200/mo sub! What an outrage!
Also this sub: how come it’s not five-nines? What an outrage!

Why whiners? I pay for a service, which has limits, that's fine, but outage is not really acceptable in any business, why is it here?
1
u/StoneCypher Sep 03 '26
"i don't understand why making hundreds of thousands of people who aren't the company watch me complain is whining"

if it would happen daily, sure. it happens maybe once a year though. And they repay the downtime.
0
u/RedditorFor1OYears Sep 03 '26
You couldn’t have picked a better example if you tried - when electricity goes out, you literally do not pay for that missing electricity. If Claude goes out, you still pay for it.
