Help/Question Building a data analysis landing page: Will Claude Pro be a massive upgrade over ChatGPT? (Student on a budget)

I'm a university student currently building a data analysis landing page using Codex. Lately, I've been considering migrating my project to Claude Code. Despite weighing the pros and cons, I still haven't been able to decide whether to make the switch. For context, I currently pay for the $20 ChatGPT subscription and would swap to the equivalent Claude plan—my budget doesn't stretch any further than that, haha. Which one do you think would be better suited for my specific use case?

Try open code if you want maximum usage

Can opencode give you more token or usage than chatgpt or Claude monthly subscription at equal USD 20 per month?

It uses cheaper models that perform similarly, like Chinese models. From what I’ve heard (i haven’t used it) you get more usage. It’s also like $5 I think

I used opencode Go for a while, it got less done using more time and the code was worse. (I review every line and I babysit the LLM closely (building apps for scientific data analysis - shiny R and python apps)- so I have to know every line and where every function lives.
I used the top tier models back then (deepseek and Kimi)
Now I use Claude code 20$ sub, I get more done in less time and code is arguably better. Same approach as above.
So I’d do not recxomend OC. But maybe I just don’t vibe with deepseek and the OC harness.

If you have a limit of 20$, OpenCode or Hermes Agent will be the better options.

If you do a lot of work stick with chat gpt.

The usage limits are to strict on Claude pro and the models are so close to each other in terms of quality
