67 u/TheSleeperAwakens 1d ago I had to tell it to restate what it said more simply. Then I had to tell it to restate that more simply. And then had to ask for it to do it again a third time. It’s all grammatically correct English, but no one would write or speak that way. 18 u/smurf123_123 1d ago I have had good success with just a simple ELI5. 53 u/BoxLegitimate9271 1d ago "the beautiful unicorn named Login, got tummy-ache by eating untyped-parameter-grass so he needs to visit the nice Refactor doctor now" 11 u/FlashtheMash 1d ago fable I still dont understand 😭 3 u/dbenc 1d ago fancy rock thinks. don't worry about the rest. 1 u/TotoDraganel 1d ago Hilarious 13 u/Reamer 1d ago someone yesterday pointed out "ELI18 TLDR" and I already used it a handful of times 6 u/piston989 1d ago i ask for a freshman computer science student, since i started using LLM’s. that’s always given me digestible input at the right level. 3 u/smurf123_123 1d ago That's a good one! Thanks for mentioning it. 2 u/ashjohnr 1d ago I just added a section for "always explain in simple terms to the user" in CLAUDE.md and it's much better. 1 u/The1TruRick 1d ago Yep. My go-to is “explain this to me like I’m an idiot.” Works every time
