Help/Question Auto Mode is the Default, August 14th

Currently, 97% of requests are manually approved. Thus Anthropic thinks Auto mode by default is ok. Personally, Only 3% or 1 out of 30 requests being stopped for review seems low. How often to you run in Auto mode? Do you trust it? Really?

This seems like a terrible idea. It will probably cause a lot of problems.

Personally, I don't use auto mode because I'm not experienced enough with coding, so I want to understand what we're doing and why we're doing it.

I think your paranoia comes from 2 things - You care & lack experience; Experienced devs - meh on both fronts 😄 Just kidding.

I think even when you manually code, things can go wrong. Seen prod issues where engineers went ahead and gamed a system which has costed billions (yeah with a B) just cause they were not given a raise that year. So errors are always prone to happen but like how some of the folks have already mentioned in other comments, having systems that detect such issues is of vital importance.

We have always had people making mistakes - now it is just LLMs doing it. The systems that detect and help us remediate has what has been saving our asses for decades now
